I agree, and Colorado thought Kuemper could be their number 1 and put them over the top. Does anyone think Vej is going to be their number 1 and help them win the cup? I don't. Keep in mind Kuemper had a great year with the Coyotes and was a solid back up in LA. Kuemper was a more sure bet than Vej would be.
They should be looking to dump Peterson and Walker at this point. And hanging their post season hopes on Copley is crazy.LAK may see it that way. Especially if they can free up money by getting rid of Peterson. Would give them cap space to make a splash and potentially have the goalie of their future
I mean half of me thinks Copley may be alright for the rest of the season because of goalie voodoo. Then next year big absolute dog shit and they are right back in the same situation. That's exactly why Veggie is so appealing, because he is young and has years on his contract and won't be asking for the moon on his nextThey should be looking to dump Peterson and Walker at this point. I know it’s wrong to harbor ill will toward him because he didn’t name himself, and it’s really his parents that deserve 100% of the blame, but I can’t help it. I’m too petty. I’ll never be able to think highly of this player. His freaking name is spelled wrong. C’mon!!!I mean half of me thinks Copley may be alright for the rest of the season because of goalie voodoo. A little premature and didn't want to start a thread:
How hard would it be to acquire Cal Foote from the Lightning in the off-season? Has arbitration rights, TB up against the cap, and have 3 RHDs signed for next season.
Let's not forget that Veggie was very inconsistent last year, and he started out this year the same way, but much to his credit he has mostly corrected that, but five months does not make a career. IF the Coyotes were going to trade for him I don't think many on this board would want to sacrifice a 1st. for him. I’d trade him to Anaheim for a 2nd for sure. Columbus too. Or Chicago even.Veji for future considerations to either ANA or CBJ as long as they agree to use him as their starter for the rest of the season lol.
Seriously though, I'd take a high second for him in '23.
I have not been impressed with Ingram, but to his credit he seems to have turned it around, for now anyway, but overall he is still 0.889 SV%. He is a RFA, so things might get interesting.Ingram’s last 5 starts : .929sv%
Vejmelka’s last 5 starts: .884sv%

hey my bold prediction that Ingram may usurp the starters role from Veggie may be coming true. Of course every time I have started to doubt Veggie he has bounced back in a major way.Ingram’s last 5 starts : .929sv%
Vejmelka’s last 5 starts: .884sv%

Probably not.Would you trade Cooley for Slafkosvky? Or course it is very early, but i definitely doubt that i would trade them straight up.
Part of the appeal with Slafkovsky was how ready he looked. Cooley was on a longer road with more potential speed bumps. I’m not sure that’s still true.Cooley excites me a lot more than Slaf does right now
I strongly dislike this writer. One of my least favorite hockey media people. And I really strongly dislike espn. So I’m not gonna pay for this crap. Buuuuuut he’s got anonymous quotes from real GMs. That I’m always interested in. Anyone know if there’s anything AZ/Chychrun related here?
"It's not surprising really. We've got like six weeks to go. A lot of things can happen, whether it's in the standings or injuries," one general manager told me recently, when I asked for his trade deadline vibes.
"Do I think something will happen at the deadline? Always does," another said, laughing.
"Every year we get asked this question. And I always think it'll be busy. It's slow going up to it, and then all of a sudden, boom!" another GM said.
...
"There's like six to eight that are buyers and roughly the same amount as sellers," he continued. "The buyers are banking points and aren't looking to do anything yet. The sellers are waiting for markets to heat up to create competition. The rest of the league is in a puddle of mud. They don't know if they're buying or selling or what the hell they're doing. And that could be half the league."
...
"A guy like Horvat, you can bring 31 teams into play with him if he's willing to sign somewhere long-term. In other words, there could be non-playoff teams in the mix for him too."
...
"I think everybody's going to be watching Chicago, with Toews and Kane," one general manager said.
...
One general manager felt that the chance to draft Bedard is "absolutely" going to have an impact on this trade season, too.
"It seems like he's going to be a special player," he said. "Very few teams are going to be in on him [in the lottery], but this draft is so strong I think teams are going to be very hesitant to give up their picks."
