Bears LB's and S are problems

The DL looked ok and DE looks fine depth wise

Starters = Houston/Allen
Rotation vets = Young/Scott
Rotation Young guys = Bass/Washington

I have liked how Bass has looked since joining Bears and both him and Washington are 24 and under

I don't see a spot for Sam especially when he doesn't play special teams

Vereen is more of an athlete than a DB right now. He'll need time, more than the other picks. This is all on Fuller. He better be good considering we could have taken a legit starting safety. Don't wet the bed, Fuller.

Fuller is a better player than all the safeties drafted around him and plays a more important position to boot. He's the least of my concerns at this juncture.

Conte is the best safety the Bears have. Which is sad but he should be starting. He actually wasn't terrible when the Bears dline wasn't garbage and their LB core was decent. He gets a lot of blame because of the GB game, and other games when the the rest of the D hung him out to dry.

Conte was terrible because of Conte ,, Every game last year he whiffed on tackles and was absolutely lost in coverage

If only way he can play average is with front 7 and CB's playing amazing then he has no business in NFL

It was a joke how Emery ignored the safety position and went diving into trash bin for MD Jennings and such

Another poor year from D and Emery should be on hot seat

Your safeties are going to look horrid when backs are five yards past the line of scrimmage untouched. Conte might be serviceable. This team needs better LB play for the D to be anything but a sieve.

Those days are over. It becomes more and more of a passing league every year. That means the importance of safety goes up and up. There were 4 taken in the first round this year. The only position that had more selections was cornerback at 5.

It's like Bowman with the Center position. You can be a brain dead moron year after year and year and wonder why you have problems or you can finally wake up one day and join the rest of the world and be normal for a ****ing change.

It depends on the defensive schemes. It's not true as a blanket statement.

And either way, Emery should have used every available pick on defense, rather than waste picks on a slow running back and a punter.
