Four games for weed two games for knocking your fiancee out cold.

How about Big Ben? He got six games for an accusation. Rice got one-third the length for uppercutting a woman on camera. Sickening. Both involve a woman. One case a proven and on camera, the other a mystery.

And then you have four games for ganja and Pryor getting five for NCAA tattoos and allegedly trying to circumvent the draft process.

I couldn't care less if athletes smoked weed. Well, they do, and I don't really care. You can't be naive about it. When a guy gets suspended for it, you think to yourself, "Wow, that's stupid."

That is until guys like Gordon and Blackmon do it. Again. And again. As much as I disagree with the NFL's "substance abuse" policy in regards to marijuana, the rules are the rules. After they have been caught, they know they can't keep getting high. Then they're just idiots.

I mean, Gordon and Blackmon need help. As much as weed "can't be" addicting, people sure can be dependent on it. They need help. Maybe I'm crazy, but they should try to stay active and not get suspended without pay. Earn your big deal. When your career finally wraps up and you saved your money correctly, if you want to get high all day, I guess you earned it. Then you can just get arrested and not have to worry about Roger Goodell.

I hate the policy, but when guys know the rules and can't behave for themselves, their family, and their organization, it's hard to feel sorry for their situation.

Don't most of them know exactly when they are getting tested anyway?

Also, Ray Rice only getting 2 games is an absolute disgrace.

I think so. It's more random in the MLB. I think suspending guys for weed is dumb and that stuff should just be handled in the courts, but when rules are in place, you have to follow them. If not, then you're just an idiot for blowing the opportunity to earn millions when you have uber and raw talent like Gordon and Blackmon, respectively.

Blackmon's recent arrest was for smoking a blunt while driving. How am I supposed to feel sorry for him at this point?

Geez... stupid, stupid, stupid. Just go to Colorado or Washington if you have to have your weed. It will probably be legal everywhere eventually, but until then....

Yeah, I've heard former players talk about how easy it is. Stay clean for like 2 months prior to camp, pass, and you're good for 10 months.

Can't fix stupid.

The NFL has all kinds of legal stuff to the general public that are banned for its players. Same for a lot of leagues. Based on weed not being a performance-enhancing drug (PED), well, which it shouldn't, if pot becomes legal across the nation, it will be interesting to see if the NFL allows it.

Imagine missing out on millions of dollars not following the sly process IU mentioned or just dropping the habit in general by not only committing a crime/NFL violation, but by doing so in plain sight in your car. Unbelievable.

It being legal doesn't make it allowed by NFL rules.

Any company can impose drug tests...

Yeah I understand that. But Blackmon was arrested here...the NFL would have never known if he hadn't been arrested.

It's sad to imagine what will become of this guy. He seems to be his own worst enemy.

Speaking of drug tests...a little off topic here. I used to work with a guy who wouldn't stop taking drugs for work, despite random drug tests at work (I think he only smoked dope?). His solution? He kept a condom filled with his daughter's urine taped to his leg EVERY DAY at work. So if a random drug test showed up, he would go in the bathroom and use that. It being taped to his leg kept it at his warm body temperature, which the drug testers check I guess. He did eventually get randomed and he did pass the test.

As much as that's funny, that's when you know you have a serious habit.

Going to camp next Friday morning. Every other time I've been has been on the weekend in the evening when it is packed. Hoping for smaller crowds with the start being 9am.

Blackmon is a complete idiot. feel no sorrow for him.

sucks as both Blackmon and Gordon could have had huge fantasy years this year if their head wasn't firmly planted up their ass.

I honestly dont think either truly care

Both continue to screwup and seem to have no desire to change lives. I expect in 15-20 years if they aren't dead or prison that they will regret life choices they have made at this point

But you cant force people to change. They must want to change and neither guy seems interested

Another guy even more far gone then these two is Tanard Jackson. Once a promising young NFL safety he has now repeatedly been suspended indefinetly

It doesn't make any sense. These guys need to put in 5 or 6 years of hard work as an NFL player and they are set for life. Even a ****** player can bank 1-2M in that time. Your on the road with free room and board 8-9 months a year, no expenses. 5 or 6 years goes by pretty quick when you can retire in your 20's.
