25th is worst possible outcome with the Colorado’s pick. Best-case 22. So 23-24 likely.
Edmonton 1 better IF they lose to Vegas otherwise it will be 29th or later. We need StLouis, Florida and Carolina to win 1 more round. And Edmonton to lose to Vegas.

Scenario I worry about is if the Flyers are drafting 5th or 6th and it’s Desnoyers and/or Martone on the board with the Flyers being 100% committed to a center. That’s where I think Brady Martin could become a possibility

I would be disappointed if he was the pick but I would still hope he becomes a Mike Richards type of player. I would try to see the silver lining that Soo is a bad team and once he got quality linemates his potential upside became more apparent. +/- is often useless but Martin led the team with +25. Only 5 players had +’s on Soo with the 2nd best player being +10, and he’s an undrafted 20 year old.

Would end up 1 better than Colorado’s. So 21. 24th worst-case IF they lose.

As of now we have not gained any ground after 1st round even if StL wins.

17-18 lost so they will draft accordingly, StL likely picks 19 unless they win 2 rounds, 20-21 already lost.

Fla 22 and Car 23 have good chances at winning next round so we would then « climb » 2 spots with Edm 24 and Colo 25 at as of now.

Got to say it adds some fun into the playoffs.

Every year i forget about the rounds 1-2 being equal. Makes little sense.

Would be huge reach. McKenzie just released latest scouts polling and he is at 12 (climbed 1 spot).
With Schaefer, Misa, Hagens and Martone gone, i cant see them not taking Frondell or Desnoyers.

We’ve seen Reinbacher, Simashev, and Sennecke the past couple drafts so reaches around the top 5 happen. I don’t see SJ, Chicago, or Nashville drafting Martone so he’ll most likely be there when the Flyers pick. If we are at 6 and it’s just Martone, then that O’Brien, Martin tier is when I get worried. I hope they would just take Martone in that situation but who knows

If the Flyers draft at 5 and Boston, Anaheim, and Pittsburgh draft after us, I think Martin goes to one of those 3 teams. As long as we are drafting 1-5 there is probably an overwhelming probability that Misa, Hagens, Frondell or Desnoyers is the pick

I don’t actually care. I like Frondell plenty, but my read on him pre-tournament was a complementary scoring winger. Middle 6 centers, glue wingers, hard hitters….I can barely contain my excitement.

I know what the bio says, but he looked beefy the other night. Plus I don't think it's physically possible to be the hardest hitter ever without being around 200.

Well today is the draft lottery and a day of reckoning in some ways. I would love to know Briere’s thoughts on Martone or if Briere is dead set on a kid that could end up at the center position.

After the lottery we will know if we are getting a Schaefer or a Misa. A Hagens, Frondell, or Desnoyers. Or a Martin or O’Brien

Here's some highlights I put together of Frondell. Any love would be appreciated


One thing that stood out was he has a patented shot from the right dot that once polished will be lethal. Overall, I think I still prefer Eklund out of these two.

I do love watching Frondell shoot. Something about a player who can glide in and just beat a goalie clean from the hash. Like Rantanen’s first goal yesterday.

Draisaitl has that too. Not sure what it is specifically about the mechanics, but those guys can lean in and load up a shot like no one else, and I see it in Frondell’s shot too.

Spent all night watching footage and looking at the first round to prep for the mock draft... have a lot of prospects to cover.
Looked only at Centers right now

I'm going to be honest if we take desnoyers when we can have cullen potter instead at center i'll be upset.
Desnoyers looks like a Flyer already. Good reason not to pick him.
Frondell's profile rubs me the wrong way because of his 2 way play but hes not a strong skater... someone could Frondell-pill me.
Bear is interesting but I like him at 10-15 and not on the Flyers.
Kindel could mesh with Michkov he has amazing metrics... we have Misa at home...
Ryabkin I take in the 20's if he's there. We know his deal.
Cootes solid middle sixer potential. take him in the 20's if he falls
Zonnon was very intense. I like intense players. He has skill.
Martin's getting taken 10 spots early this draft for sure.


Best part about prospects? I get to watch 5-10 minutes read a few articles, post my opinions online and then retroactively deny them when they're inevitably wrong!

This draft is so much weaker than last year, but that means more chaos in the real picks and we might accidentally steal a good player. expect lots of Scott Laughtons.
