Ignoring our draft position (4th or 6th or 7th) After Misa, Hagens, Schaefer, Eklund, Frondell, who do you take?
I've watched enough tape the last few days of Misa, Martone, Hagens, Schaefer, Desnoyers, Eklund, Frondell, O'Brien to at least have working opinions.
Desnoyers would be disappointing, especially in light of last year. Classic case of "like the player, hate the pick." He just looks like a garden variety middle 6 center, aggressively fine in a multitude of ways. He’s like a slightly better Nate Danielson from 2 years ago, elevated because he's a center. Lot of efficiency plays, not seeing any high end stuff, even on the PP wall. Still smooth all-around, good skater. But yeah. He's a floor pick in that range, and you won't convince me otherwise.
I also was disappointed with Eklund, even if I like him. I just don't like him as a 5th-7th overall type in a perfect world. I don't think he's quite as good as his brother (mainly in edge work/along the wall, which is important when you're slight), and I liked his bro. He's clearly skilled, but I'm not sold on it being top end scorer level. I prefer Frondell between the two, but I think he's a complementary top 6 wing in the NHL.
This draft is really really tough. I could nitpick each of the top 4, and I also think it's pretty essential to be in that top 4. So many guys last class would be even higher in this one.![]()
It would only be fitting if one of Ersson, Fedotov or Kolosov comes up with a Hasek like performance against the Sabres ...Kraken fans had to be nervous last night with that 6-5 Loss to LA after being down 6-2.
The Flyers and Sabres, the two teams in the NHL mired in mediocrity the longest, have accumulated the most points of all the bottom 10 teams over the last 10 games. Both are 5-4-1. On Thursday we find out what happens when an Unstoppable Force of Stupidity meets and Immovable Object of Incompetence.
McQueen and Bear ahead of Desnoyers, O'Brien and Frondell.
This is only because they haven't made the pick yetIf you would have told me Michkov was a Calder finalist, Torts got fired, and we got the 4th pick, I would have been very happy. Losing this game allows for one of the best seasons in recent Flyers history.
Keeping Rocky would be crucial for that quest.God I hope we get the top pick next year. How do you not try? Trade TK and keep the goalies. Keep Brad Shaw.
Lucy is kneeling down and adjusting the football, inviting us to try for a kick. You know how this plays out, right? Multiple Flyers players will have hat tricks on Thursday and Ersson or Kolosov or Fedotov will post a shutout. The culture demands it.
I want them all to play in broomball shoes.Young kids playing for a job is dangerous in a must-lose game. I want the run-down vets in there.
I don't think Eklund will go that high, but in this scenario, it has to be Desnoyers or Martone.Ignoring our draft position (4th or 6th or 7th) After Misa, Hagens, Schaefer, Eklund, Frondell, who do you take?
Your top 4 would be Misa, Hagens, Martone, and Schaefer then?I've watched enough tape the last few days of Misa, Martone, Hagens, Schaefer, Desnoyers, Eklund, Frondell, O'Brien to at least have working opinions.

Yeah, they have us hard coded to take Misa, then Hagens. We can't end up in a position where those two are off the board but Schaefer isn't, (IIRC, the one scenario that has us picking third, someone takes Schaefer in the top 2) so I think they may have just coded us to take a center no matter what, but the five picks they give us, in order, are Misa, Hagens, Frondell, Desnoyers, and McQueen.Interesting on Tankathon this morning. Buffalo got 1st and picked Misa, and the Flyers got 2nd and picked Hagens. Schaefer went 3rd to SJ.
That's the highest I've seen Hagens go on Tankathon.
Idk if it’s been all year but he’s been there in all of the games I’ve seen.@BigToe Was Kindel at the point on the PP all year or was this just a weird game?
The only team I could see draft him in the Top 10 is the Islanders who hold the 10th pick. Lou still thinks it's 1998 and his size will be very appealing for that old fogie.
"We have 7 of those" is what they will say and then take Mrtka cause someone was going to take him right after them.I don’t see how Flyers could pass on Shaefer. He’s the consensus BPA, they also lack a no. 1 d-man. Don’t do what teams 2-4 did last year, which was just dumb.
I don't know is 6'2" tall enough to not be considered a small boi?I don’t see how Flyers could pass on Shaefer. He’s the consensus BPA, they also lack a no. 1 d-man. Don’t do what teams 2-4 did last year, which was just dumb.
Side note but I love being 6'2 and telling people I'm 5'11 because everyone shorter than me panics and starts justifying how really they are as tall as they say they are.I don't know is 6'2" tall enough to not be considered a small boi?
That's mine not in that order but I'm happy af with any of those playersYour top 4 would be Misa, Hagens, Martone, and Schaefer then?
