Of course it’s the triehards ruining things for us once more.Nothing like a few Deslauriers and Hathaway goals to boot us out of the top 5.

#culture babee...Of course it’s the triehards ruining things for us once more.
Boston gets so much shit for that horrific year
I would love Brady Martin with one of their other 1sts but there is just better value to be had in the top 10.I hope everyone who calls Brady Martin “nightmare” just didn’t see him play hockey game, and only thing they know about him is he loves hits.
In the other cases I just don’t realize what do you want from modern C.
Also according EP Flyers are 30th in height and 32nd in weight. So what a great time to continue the war against non-exist morons an hate players just because they are taller than 5’9.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are patients who are willing to spend the first round for Cameron Schmidt

As an aside, has anyone ever compared the general consensus beforehand to the actual outcome from past drafts? I’m curious how accurate it is
I should have phrased my question better: if a redraft is done ~5+ years out from that draft, how often is the redraft similar to the actual pre-draft rankings based on how the professional career has gone?Seems like there is one faller replaced by one riser each year in the Top 10..but the other 9 guys are usually consensus.
For example, 2021 the top 9 of the 10 picks were in McKenzie's Final Ranking. The only off the board pick was Ottawa selecting Tyler Boucher out of nowhere at #10. Chaz Lucius was the faller.
Funny thing is we shouldn't have Michkov either. We got extremely lucky with him.I think if the Flyers don't pick in the top 7 this year, the rebuild is a failure. There's no return.
You failed the Cutter situation
Bonk doesn't appear to be much of a game changer
Luchanko was a complete and utter disaster
and if you leave this draft with a middle 6 player, you can't come back from that.
Leaving a 4 year run of 4 top 15 picks with Michkov, Luchanko, Drysdale and 3rd liner is borderline impossible to come back from.
Boston gets so much shit for that horrific year, we managed to stretch out that horrific year over 4
At least if we didn't get Michkov, we probably get Leonard which is at least a damn fine prospect.Funny thing is we shouldn't have Michkov either. We got extremely lucky with him.
Yea but he's not even remotely close to Michkov. Hopefully teams make the same mistake and let Hagens fall to usAt least if we didn't get Michkov, we probably get Leonard which is at least a damn fine prospect.

I'm curious what your 10 would be as of today? Obviously plenty of room to change things, just curious where you currently standHagens may be good, but being on a line with Leonard and Perreault, who've been playing together for two years, and all three for half a season before the WJC, is a bit of an advantage.
This surprised me, Luchanko is little more than two months older than Hagens (8-21-06 v 11-3-06)

Too many variables with drafting a goaltender. The easiest path to this team being worth a damn is finding a true 1G. A top end one.
To mask the lack of talent elsewhere that is bound to be the issue. Goaltending has a chance to be their salvation, to mask that they are bereft of talent elsewhere.
Would like to see that be somewhat of a focus the next few drafts. They aren’t going to big brain their way into success by going BPA with their own assessments. So I actually do agree with drafting somewhat for need. A goaltender is the biggest one. More than a 1C or 1D.
1. GOES OUR way. Chicago does us huge favour by beating Montreal. CBJ NEEDS 2 regulation wins for any hopes of making it. A must win regulation game tomorrow.Almost all the worst possible outcomes played out this week in regards to the tank. What seemed like a surefire top 6 pick pre lottery is looking dicey. We need to lose 1 game in regulation to secure the 6th best odds pre lottery.
Knowing how things have gone, I'm sure they'll go 2-0 and all of Seattle, BUF, PITS, ANA will lose out. Being a fan of this team literally hurts.
I'm genuinely terrified everything will go wrong for us again this week:
1. Montreal beats Chicago tomorrow to clinch which eliminates CBJ.
2. CBJ will have nothing to play for Tuesday and we beat them at home.
3. NJ has been awful the past week, and just got spanked by BOS last week, they'll go super try hard and beat Boston.
4. LA still fighting for home ice with EDM, will beat Seattle.
5. Washington has been on sleep mode ever since Ovie broke the record. Will try and rectify before the playoffs start. Win vs PITs.
6. Anaheim has been their usual awful self the last 10 days. Minny still fighting to clinch and then they're on a B2B on the road in Winnipeg. They'll go 0-2.
7. Buffalo running out of steam after a hot stretch. Toronto still fighting to win the division, they'll beat Buffalo Tuesday. Then the most important game of all of us. BUF vs PHI on Thursday. It'll be a Gauranteed Flyers win just to break us all.
This all leads to the 9th pick and picking a future middle 6 player.
Obviously that's worst case scenario and im just going overboard, it's just hard guys. What an absolute painful ending to the season. Typical.
Let's just get this year done with. Can't handle this team for anything more than the next few days.
I'm sorry I went full Doom and Gloom, just needed to vent haha
Another smaller victory tonight guys. LA dominating EDM. With today's win, they clinch 2nd in the division. Hope they don't bring their A or even B game against SEA tomorrow.Almost all the worst possible outcomes played out this week in regards to the tank.
