Last night was good for the tank. Seattle and Anaheim won, Rags lost so they should be desperate for a win vs Flyers. Just need Boston and Pitt to win a bit and play Kolosov. Tank Commander Shaw, submerge!

It is looking pretty good right now in terms of picking 4-5.

basically lotto rules only trigger if you move UP from the lotto. Being the 32nd team and winning the lotto doesnt technically move you up because you were already in 32nd place. same with 31st and the 2nd overall pick.

I misread the rule I thought it was you can only win once in a five year span, its you can only win twice in a five year span.

This may sound somewhat crazy, though I don’t want the Flyers to get a high pick in a way at this time. Simply because if they do it is because of their incompetence. Not by design or any solid plan.

Nah they will voodoo for McKenna. After the Crosby era it would be fitting. As we know Bedard is already in Windy City. A 1,2 combo with Hagens and Levshunov (with some more nice prospects I don't remember now) on D is a strong core.

For what its worth, tankathlon has hardcoded Sabres and Flyers taking Misa over Schaefer (one sim bumped him to 3rd with Flyers taking Hagens 2nd). I am not sure they would pass on Schaefer

I think if the Flyers win the lottery, they have to take Schaefer. He is the no brainer choice. He is a difference maker, a total stud. The kind of player who is franchise altering. Stud number one defensemen are rare and make a huge difference. I think Schaefer is this. He brings really high end offense and superior defense and is very young as well. Think a combination of Makar and Heiskanen. I think Schaefer is right there when he finishes maturing.
Misa, Hagens, and Desnoyers are terrific players. I would go Misa number 2 and probably Desnoyers 3rd. I like Hagens (and Frondell) But I think Desnoyers will be better at helping a team win.

I'd settle for the pick being defensible in comparison to other options. Just stick with someone in the same tier, rather than, say, overdrafting McQueen cause big.

It is funny that people focus on the “big” aspect of McQueen’s profile, but he is also very talented. His problem is the back issues. That is really the only reason not to take him in the top 10.

They aren’t “catching” Nashville. This is about 4th position/increasing odds for moving up.

Hypothetically speaking, if we end at 2 spot, whom do you, Misa? I like Frondell. Misa and Frondell are both shooters, Frondell has a lethal shot and is working on playmaking. Desnoyer is a complete player. As crazy as it may be, at 4, Martone could be BPA, yikes
