Checkers vs ChessTrades Kuzmenko to LA to beat the Oilers - better pick for us and McDavid want to get the hell out.
Rantanen makes Dallas better to beat the Avs- get a better pick
This may actually work out for us.

Swapping picks with the Oilers was a good move and risk worth taking. What I can’t figure out for the life of me is why on earth did they not get back an additional pick? Even if a 6th rd pick for example. Current 1st rd picks traded for future ones always have something else going to the team that traded the pick.Trades Kuzmenko to LA to beat the Oilers - better pick for us and McDavid want to get the hell out.

Didn't factor in the loss of a year of development. We'll see who they get this year, assuming they don't trade it again. Sam O'Reilly is a good player, taken by the Oilers. There were some really good ones early in the 2nd round too. 2024 NHL Entry Draft Picks at hockeydb.comSwapping picks with the Oilers was a good move and risk worth taking. They clearly had no interest in him as they have seen him play plenty.Didn't factor in the loss of a year of development. We'll see who they get this year, assuming they don't trade it again. Cole Hutson, Igor Chernyshov, Julius Miettinen, big D like Kleber and Eliasson. We'll see if we do better this years, hard to imagine getting a guy better than Hutson or Chernyshov wherever the pick ends up.
Let’s not forget, the logic at the time was that Flahrsy and company LOVED the 2025 draft, thought it was so strong. Turns out it is a weak draft. Beloved Flahrsy still has a job.Swapping picks with the Oilers was a good move and risk worth taking. They built it up as franchise moving. The spin after this draft will be we love 2026. That is our goal. I anticipate they move at least 3 of those top 6 or so picks. We shall see for what.Let’s not forget, the logic at the time was that Flahrsy and company LOVED the 2025 draft, thought it was so strong. Turns out it is a weak draft. That aside, not getting a premium for trading a current first for a future first is absurd mismanagement, has never happened in any major sport.
Lastly, what on earth are they doing making their allotted 7 picks in the 2024 draft when they’re in draft #2 of a supposed rebuild?
wonder who is the nobody we select at 11th OA with our first pick...new scouch list

We’re back with new draft rankings! What a day to be alive. It’s been a heck of a season to this point, with nearly 200 players in my tracked database and plenty more who have crossed the radar, and we’re left with around 80 names plus my Watchlist of 25 curiosities to keep tabs on in the future. Do you take a swing at McQueen if he is still there (with the Oilers or somehow Colorado pick?)new scouch list

Point being, rebuilding teams looking to build their prospect pool aggressively add picks and draft more than the allotted 7 picks. They built it up as franchise moving. Not following you on the bold.

I have no idea, breh. Idk if I'll even finish a list this year anymore. I don't trust either of them.Do you take a swing at McQueen if he is still there (with the Oilers or somehow Colorado pick?)
I see Ryabkin is in his tier 6 list. I’ve seen a lot of gents here including Appleyard who have him in the late 1st range.
Idk if I'll even finish a list this year anymore.
I mean McQueen’s writeip screams Flyers. Injury concerns, rumor of him dropping due to it. Flyers about to “outsmart” everybody in the building ….new scouch list

Misa was already around 2PPG before Chernyshov played a game.Steve Kournianos is not big on Misa. He says he is primarily a goal scorer. He likes Hagens way more. He says tha Misa is not the play driver on his line. chernoshev is. Scoring goals is hard though and there is value in that, so I ca still see a dynamic duo with Misa and Michkov together on a line.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here come the out of the line "we loved this guy" picks.Last summer, from the brilliant AGM himself:
"Next year, we project it to be a very strong draft just from what we've seen so far. Obviously, we're going to see more and more kids this summer. To have those picks, not only in the first and second, it allows you to do a lot of things next year at the draft. We know it's a strong draft, but also there are situations next summer where we can be players and get in the game and take a big step hopefully."
I still think it’s hilarious that the only draft he went on record as saying sucked is 2021. Nailed that one too.
Misa was already around 2PPG before Chernyshov played a game.
I'm with you on this. I have Misa right behind Schaefer in this draft at number 2. I think he and Michkov will complement each other well.Misa was already around 2PPG before Chernyshov played a game.
I like both players, but not at the Flyers first pick. I had Bear in the top 10 prior to his injury. Now I hope teams are too afraid to take him until the Flyers second pick in the first, then I would jump all over him. What are thoughts on Lakovic or Bear?
