Anyone else think that we were going to be a top 10 team in scoring? I know I did and yet, we've regressed to sitting currently 25th in the league at 2.80 gf/g

2024-2025: 2.80 - 25th
2023-2024: 3.10 - 17th
2022-2023: 2.74 - 27th
2021-2022: 2.51 - 32nd

We're regressing with better talent...in my book, time to change the coach. We shouldn't be sitting 25th in the league in scoring, especially since we've seen the maturation from Guenther, Cooley, etc...

Not only time to replace the coach, but I'm all for jettisoning Crouse and others at the deadline

Shoot the puck...I can't say this enough. They did a much better job last night and the D were very active in the first but then they seemed to move away from it a bit. So many times they make a pass or two and then try one more pass instead of just taking a shot and getting a rebound. It's incredibly frustrating.

I do think AT was the right guy for the job up until now. It's time to transition to a coach that will be more about winning and accountability, less about proper development. That phase should be mostly over IMO.

Time to get a bit more hardcore.

Link: Can Utah make a big splash before the NHL Trade Deadline?

Seems to me that this contradicts a lot of the BA criticism I've seen:

"Frank Seravalli: ...I will tell you this. Bill Armstrong is not a very popular GM amongst his peers and the reason for that – we actually talked about it on the pod – because he calls and he asks about top-end players. A lot of times, the conversations are super short, and sometimes he even gets hung up on, I bet. Where it’s like, ‘Why are you calling about that guy?’ But that Sergachev deal is a great example because maybe about six months before it even materialized at the Draft, he had called and asked Tampa Bay about Sergachev. Months later, he gets a call back of, ‘Hey, are you still interested? If so, here is what we might be looking at.’ And you see a deal start to come together. I know for certain that Bill Armstrong has been making those types of calls this season and I wouldn’t be shocked, let’s just connect a dot, what about one of the guys in Vancouver that we have been talking about all year long? Utah has the pieces to get something like that done and they are ready to take a swing and potentially add a game-changing player. I don’t think there is a team in the NHL that is better well-positioned for the future than Utah – draft picks, prospects, cap space, and they have star players already in their fold. That’s a pretty dangerous combination.

i think it's time for a coaching change, esp. with reinforcements coming next year from overseas (if all panned out). I am not sure if AT is the long term solution anyways, so might as well look for a longer term solution such as Quinveille or Gallant when they are still available. 14 game losing streak last year, 2-9? last 10 games should get someone canned.

I think they’ve proven to be mediocre as a whole. Maybe once they’re good…
But then again, I’m the guy that wanted
Keenan! :D
I forgot who I wanted but it wasn't AT, or Keenan. The way it sounds BA is tickled pink with AT. Mind you, BA is tickled pink driving in the snow on his way to the rink. You could be right about being mediocre as a whole. Today, Utah has the eighth worst record, that not even mediocre.

I would love Quenneville. No to Gallant.

We just interviewed Jack McBain on our podcast. We’re releasing it tomorrow. Very fun interview.

We’ll be interviewing Belle Fraser next week.

Many more exciting guests lined up, too. :)
