to help out the 3rd line I think it's about time they re-called Doan and inserted him into Crouse's spot and move Crouse down to 4th line and just tell him to hit everything and go to the net

Keller/Hayton/Schmaltz (can't wait to replace Hayton here)
McBain/Cooley/Guenther
Maccelli/Bjugstad/Doan
Crouse/Stenlund/Kerfoot

I dunno. The 4th line is really vibrating right now.
I think any changes with the 3rd line should be offset in the press box.

So disappointed in Ingram.
Only a few teams are willing to dump decent players for picks/prospect ATM. Still expecting a trade, but it may not happen until after the start of the new year.
Crouse's play makes me wonder if he requested a trade, but GMBA is waiting for the "right trade" to emerge?

Expecting a better 2nd half of the season than what we experienced in this 1st half.

GMBA's top priority isn't making the playoffs this season but the long term goal of building a contender, so patience is needed to bring in the right players. Stop gaps aren't the solution, but maybe a rental or 2 if they're willing to re-sign. I'm not sure about reclamation projects!

BA better start to mention the word PLAYOFFS in his vocabulary next year, and every player better know that playoffs are expected.

We'll make the playoffs this season! We'll have a better roster next season too.

What I didn't mention is that it should be Tourigney's top priority and it takes focussing on winning the next game and not dwelling on expectations. I also believe that GMBA wants his team to focus and not dwell on expectations, that's his job. That's why he down plays expectations to the media.

Hear what you are saying and somewhat agree. He is the team leader and hopefully soon he should say we are a playoff team. We are young and will make some mistakes but we are also Dedicated and intelligent to learn from our mistakes. We had some hard times when losing was acceptable but that's no more. From myself and the entire team we should be held accountable for our play. We work for you the fans and you deserve to be entertained and we will put the best players one the ice each night. We will be competitive, Utah Shows up and so shall we!!

Or we shall play some meaningful games. Losing is ok, this is the NHL a developmental league ;)

BA sets the tone for the team, I want to see more leadership for him. He's well spoken and we'll liked but I want to see some drive from him.

Crouse and Maccelli are both veterans with no excuses. I'd have no problem benching them and giving Doan and/or someone else a few NHL minutes.
The guy who just turned 24 is a veteran with no excuses? Are you just ignoring Kerfoot, Stenlund, Bjugstad, Cole, Carcone etc now?

Crouse probably doesn't have an excuse but there are a lot more guys than just him on this roster who should be playing better.

Isn't it based on seasons played? He's no rookie. This is Maccelli's 4th season of NHL experience.

Not ignoring them. Crouse and Maccelli are supposed to be a part of this team's core players. The others not so much.

Edit: If you look at some of the previous posts, the conversation was about Crouse and the third line in general. Not Kerfoot, Stenlund, Cole, or Carcone.

Edit edit: Was I the victim of your first post on the Utah board? Welcome!

Nah I've posted other stuff, mostly on the trade thread.

But you were talking about the effort in the team, and there's more to call out than just them- and no 4 seasons doesn't make you a veteran in the NHL.

Isn't focusing on winning the next game kind of a "expectation?" Every year, every team sets expectations, or their goals whatever you want to call them. IF you don't set a goal you have nothing to reach for. This is true for every single living person. If you don't set a goal you will most never reach you full potential. Every year you hear players set goals for them self. As far as playoffs go you may be right. I thought last year we would be a bubble team, and this year in the playoffs, then Utah hit that rough spot and I thought my predictions could be a year late. I guess we will find out.

I think most players are playing damn good right now with the exception of that third line. The way it looks is that Bear is reluctant to stir the pot because the team is having success. That third line had a lot of success last year so here is hoping they start to pull their weight.

BA was on NHL network the other day and the hosts mentioned playoffs and BA did his best to ignore that word. He did say they are in year four of the rebuild and most teams don't make the playoffs in year four. Is that not telling the team it's ok not to make the playoffs this year? I have no idea why he doesn't say our expectations are to be in a wild card contention, we believe we have the talent etc. etc. we are getting better and we are taking it day by day.:dunno:

Never been able to find anything other than varying opinions on what makes a player an NHL veteran and, even though you've stated it as a fact, I've never seen anything from the NHL itself. Is there something you could share to make it more than just your own strong opinion? I can be persuaded.

Whether Maccelli is (by some definition I'm unaware of) a veteran or not, he's not a rookie and that was all I was trying to convey. He's played over 200 NHL games and is an experienced NHL player.
