No goalie upgrade and utterly blundering the LTIR for “cap space” and then not even using the full cap space while we healthy scratch Skinner and let Broberg and Holloway leave because we needed cap space then proceed to not even use it is the dumbest thing I’ve seen.

And yes I agree Jackson should have aimed higher. Clearly he never should have been hired in the first place. Ultimately it's all at the feet of Daryl Katz for hiring incompetent upper management time and time again. But this thread is about Bowman. Not them.

They should've been interviewing during the playoffs last year. Wonder if they would've given away our 2025 first if Holland wasn't in charge.

I don't expect O'Reilly to become anything of worth either.

Why are we talking about sample size. I'm looking at the entire season. Right now the Oilers are 10th in points/game. We're a lower end playoff team. Our actual results and expected results are worse than they were at this same point last season. We score less, we get scored on more and our special teams as a whole are worse.

This has always been, to some degree an ownership issue. Katz has brought in the wrong people ever since he purchased the team. Unfortunately, he won't go anywhere for years. Decades maybe. We're stuck with him and he never seems to learn from his past mistakes.

The fact that the media was kissing Skinner's ass tells you that management had absolutely no intention of moving him or keeping him and getting an upgrade. If we end up losing in the playoffs I hope that we are f***ing annihilated on the scoreboard and that our goalies have like a -10 in expected goals.

Skinner is 100% going to have a terrible playoffs, that is all but guaranteed. If they do indeed move on from him in the summer because of it, its going to be hilarious to see all the media turn on him and pretend they knew he was the problem all along. This is after every one of them has been defending him like they were his mom for 2 straight years, in the face of any fact or stat you cared to look up. The local media's ability to pretend they never said certain things in the past is remarkable.

On paper this would have been a deep forward group in 2019. But Brown, Henrique, Nuge, Janmark, Arvidsson, Kane are well past their prime. Holland is not the GM but I always joked that he was trying to win the All-Star game 8 years ago. Seems JJ is on the same wave.
