Carlos Cavazo. Actually, almost a year older than me. (Which makes him very old.) Awesome guitarist, always loved this song and most of that Metal Health album.

RIP Kevin DuBrow.

Yes, Carlos. Last I heard he joined Ratt. You never cease to impress me with some of the stuff you know. I figured Trollposo was probably the only one who would know

I loved that band.

Yeah I heard he had joined Ratt too. The early 1980s were really the golden age of heavy metal; I remember both Ratt and Quiet Riot coming out with these awesome albums in the winter/spring 1983 along with ZZ Top and a whole bunch of other great music. Helped get me through a rough time in my life (separation and divorce from wife no. 1). :)

California's drought has been in effect for the last 15 years or so. It may create some immediate relief (ignoring the millions upon millions of property damage and potential deaths), but long term it won't change much. It will also create droughts in other areas. It's not a positive thing.

A lot of the 80s hair bands are a quagmire of members from other bands. Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Dokken, Lynch Mob, Warrant, etc. I would hate to make the Venn Diagram for all those cross pollinating bands.

Yeah, I'm not aware of how well regarded he was back then. All I know is nowadays I rarely hear his name brought up, but the guy is absolutely phenomenal.

Mr. Scary off Beast from the East. Incredible. Dokken is embarrassing nowadays though. Re-recording your greatest hits is so ridiculous.

Is that what they are doing? That's ridiculous. Dumbest thing I ever heard.

Maybe they think they are Natalie and decided to record with dad Nat King Cole, only they did a time warp thingy. :)

The percentage in relation to a 100% scale. Market cap share for the United States is 52% (19.8 trillion). The highest amount since the late 80s.

Biggest takeaway - look at Russia. Doesn't even have a number attached to it because it's so forgettable and plebeian. Nominal GDP ranked 10th behind Brazil, Italy, and France, lol. Powerhouse? Not even close. Sit down Putin.

Like I said. Not even a blip on the radar.

I was a huge Dokken fan but once Lynch left the band they definitely lost the luster. That Dokken re-recording was without Lynch so to me it is a cover band album at this point. Plus Don can't sing for crap anymore. Gee, who would think chain smoking would mess up your voice????

I saw Lynch Mob at a local bar a few months ago. Man that was depressing. Lynch and the band sounded great but there were maybe 200-300 people at the show.

New Maiden single

Fascinating read below. The part that got me laughing is where he keeps saying that the Fender Strat is the hardest guitar to play, because of all the issues with picking up police and fire radio calls and light dimming.

Iron Maiden's Janick Gers: 'We're Not Gonna Be a Parody. We Are Valid Now and What We Play Now Is Valid'

Many years ago, I worked at the Long Beach Arena as a concessions supervisor. It was in March/April 1980 when the Grateful Dead played two nights. I'll never forget the first night because the ****ers played past 2 a.m. and I was tired and wanted to go home. The ****ers wouldn't stop playing, and the acid didn't stop flowing. (What a freak show.) Apparently, I wasn't the only one feeling that way, because the venue imposed an 11:30 p.m. curfew after that that still stands to this day, I believe.

Anyway, there opening act was a band called Iron Maiden. I never heard of them at the time, and I guess no one else much knew about them either. They had a cult following, as I saw an old small hippie bus in the parking lot with "Iron Maiden" in the notification board on top of the bus (lol).

My guitar instructor got a kick out of me retelling that story. You can imagine: Iron Maiden, with that heavy metal feel, opening for a band like Grateful Dead.
