Funny fact I learned about my uncle: he only allows his girlfriend of I don't know how many years over to his house on Fridays and Saturdays because he doesn't want any chance of them becoming common law and her taking any of his stuff if they ever break up

I'll become common-law on May 1. Looking forward to getting nothing from student loans for my last year of school lol.

Isn't that illegal?

:dunno: I can't imagine they have a way to actually distinguish. I mean, I had a friend living with a girl who was his best friend (but not girlfriend) for over half a year. Would the government feel compelled to consider them married while he was going out with another girl?

I'm not actually claiming anything on that front, though; that was a mild exaggeration. I just file taxes with my parents still as a single dependent, which I'm only allowed to do for another year because I'm a student and I visit and stay at my parents' home often enough. It's better for everyone.

Without attending to you directly, it definitely sounds like a tear you got there; I've only ever sprained my knee, but very similar (if lesser) symptoms. The "burning" sensation is probably inflammation/swelling around the injury site. Get a brace on and go see your doctor... and avoid stairs/stop walking on it.

Ah yes thanks, yeah I saw my Doc he said it was a torn ligament, he wasn't sure if it was full or partial and is referring me to a specialist, which he said could be a long wait. I do have to go to a physio clinic and get a brace. I haven't gone because it so damn hard to walk.

Physio is the right way to go. Them people know their stuff. I went to a place in Fish Creek, I think. I can't really remember Calgary very well, though.

Anyway, best of luck. Torn ligaments suuuuuuuck.

Ah ok, i'll have to check out some locations, I'm in the NE. Worst part, besides not being mobile and the pain part, is not being able to move positions while sleeping. Thanks for the well wishes.

I should also mention that our permanent address on all our official stuff is our parents' houses. As far as I know, I've done everything legally in order to be able to claim that we are just roommates for now while I'm going to school. That's going to change this year, though.

Man, you guys are on a roll on taxes. I thought I was having fun with the fact that I spent more than 30 days in the States last year.

Guys - I might be applying for a position as a writer on Matchsticks & Gasoline, which would be a lot of fun. Wish me luck!

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it's a springboard to a better site though.
