thx, yeah I worked in restaurant Management for the last decade or so and it`s many hours. This one would be a touch different in that I have a manager I report to who would do the majority of the paperwork. Essentially I would oversee, train and develop the staff the course has to work large events, essentially banquet`s so paperwork is minimal.

Hours aren`t bad, start at 5 pm and I would work every 2nd weekend so there`s that too

Sounds like a nice gig and something you would do well with! The perks sound like they're right up your alley too, so like I said, best of luck with the decision. I'm sure you'll decide what's best for you!

Have an offer on the table to work in a Management capacity at a golf course here. Money is good, free golf for myself and a guest all season is great and there are multiple perks at other courses out West and a few in Hawaii. The gig is only 4 days a week but longer hours and there will be nights I don`t get home until 1 am.

Working in a non-management position now, making ok money, peers and management are terrific and I have zero responsibilities other than looking after my own paperwork, no real late nights

Has anyone gone to Northeastern for grad school? I’m just looking at my options for when I graduate from my program. I’ll be a lab tech but I’m wondering if going to Northeastern for an MS in biotechnology could get my foot in the door at some startups or pharma companies in Boston.

Unless you want to be in Bosotn/Cambridge, I would look at Lowell. I graduated from NU with a B.S. in Engineering and intended to get my Masters at Lowell. I took a few classes and was really impressed. Both NU and Lowell are great as they actually have night grad classes but for the price I think Lowell is better. As a NU alum I get 25% off an Lowell was still way cheaper. They have a lot of connections north of Boston and in the Merrimac Valley.

But if you want to stay in Boston and can't commute to Lowell, NU is a great choice. Again, one of the new night time masters programs yet. AND due to the co-op's they have alot of ins with big name bio-tech companies in the city. Also, maybe look at WPI they were a leader in online classes when I was looking at getting my masters.

Thanks! I'm looking at NU because they offer the MS in Biotech mostly online with a two week on-campus lab. It does seem expensive but by then I'll be working as a lab tech in Maine so I should be able to do it. I'd love a cheaper option like Lowell but I'm not sure if I want to do an on campus program. If I did it wouldn't be NU.

The biggest thing for me is the connections I could make in school and the chance of getting a job in the industry after. I know I don't want to live in Boston or Cambridge, so maybe I'll look into Lowell and consider moving closer in the future. Good to know both schools have good connections.
