Curious on what makes you say that, and who's better that will take a spot from them ? The Bruins roster at the end of the season was atrocious,imo there's plenty of room for those three. Sweeney will need guys on an entry level contracts as well.
I think there's a pretty good chance all three are on the opening night roster.

Swayman returning to form is largely contingent on the overall team defensive play improving and the team spending more time in the offensive zone.
They played 3/4 of the season with McAvoy and still stunk. Lindholm was already on the decline and while still a decent D-man, not about to be push the needle in any dramatic fashion. The D needs better coaching but no guarantees they will get that. Leach is still on the payroll. Who knows which former Bruin or local Mass. product gets the head coaching gig.
They have to get the forward group improved through a combination of additions, subtractions, and a couple young guys popping off. I've said all season that the forward group was the root cause of the problem here. The name of the game is spending as much time in the offensive zone as possible. This forward group struggled to move through the neutral zone, cross the offensive blueline, and sustain pressure once in the zone. I watch a guy like Lysell at the end using his speed to carry the puck through the neutral zone and push defenders back, something that was clearly missing most of the season outside of the top line.
Same here , was hoping Pasta would skip the worlds, but the Euro guys seem to value the WHC more than the North American players do.

I don't mean to single you out, because I see this all the time from fans of all teams, and I think 82 pts is low, but I really dislike when people take all of the things that went wrong in the prior season and wipe those away while still keeping all the things that went right.
So if we assume McAvoy and Lindholm are completely healthy, can we then assume Pasta or Swayman get hurt?
If we assume that Swayman bounces back, can we assume Morgan Geekie doesn't shoot 22% again?
You can't get rid of all the warts and keep all the beauty marks. Some things will improve and some of what went good won't be as good.
I don't think the Bruins will be as bad as they were last year, but I wouldn't put money on them making the playoffs either (with the given roster... but who knows what changes they'll make this summer).
Yes the good news is with the cap exploding over the next 4-5 years is the Bruins will have a lot of cap space, the bad news is the Free Agent market will likely be much less.
Sadly the Bruins really needed to cap to jump 6 years ago, It would have ben hugely beneficial for them then, now not at all
Signing a player like Bennett, who is not a number one center is a waste of money IMO.
He would be a great pick up for a team that is a second line center away from winning a Cup.
1) we will overpay for a 50-60 pt player.
2) assuming we draft a center with our first pick, he would block him from playing time. We already have EL / CM / Potsy/Kastelic and potentially Zacha as centers.
I would much rather take this money and spend it on a winger(s).

I don’t want to sign Bennett whatsoever. But Mittelstadt and Kastelic aren’t blocking anybody. Really shouldn’t be counted in the calculus.

I would package CM in a deal this summer.
He is more or less a third line jag. Not part of a genuine "retool."
Get rid of the JAGs and passengers.
Far too many of both.
They better get the myriad tasks at hand right.
I expect the club they ice in 2025-2026 to be significantly improved relative to every important metric (goaltending, team defense, power play, penalty kill, shots on goal, etc.).
Especially pure talent.
We'll see about that one.
They better get it right, or both Neely and Sweeney will be gone.
The latter has proven a good to very good manager.
The former has no business -- none -- running any aspect of hockey operations.
No NHL organization outside of the Boston Bruins would hire Neely for a prominent, meaningful front office position, never mind team president.
If not for Charlie, Cam would likely be out of hockey. Perhaps involved with Neely House or a position more suited to his strengths.
It pains me to criticize someone who used to be my all time favorite Bruin.
He has to go.
Eventually, the necessity of relieving Neely from his present role (although, as noted repeatedly, I *still* don't know what he actually does) will become clear to Charlie Jacobs.
Until then, "They better get it right."

A lot of the goals he gave up this year had nothing to do with team defense , many were ones he should have saves as an NHL goaltender , especially top paid one
Poitras will not be with this team next year nor should he be.

UFA you go after the big fish or you go for overpaying the best(s) player(s) you can get on a 1y deal.
That case you either get a stud or you can trade the 1y deal players you signed for picks/prospects at deadline.

Largely where I am at, generally the real loss in FA is long term deals for mid level plaayers

Why would a UFA player take a one year deal? Maybe somebody who had a bad season and is looking to rebound, like Trent Frederic? It's not realistic and if they are only looking at reclamation projects on one year deals let the Laukos, Poitras' and Mintens fill those spots.

I feel ya. My process when looking ahead is to always plan for career/recent averages for the most part. I don’t know why you would expect Sway or Pasta injuries, or for anybody that matter. That’s just an unfortunate thing that can happen to everyone or no one. Just try to have depth in case that becomes reality. Last year was essentially rock bottom for this org as far as post 2010 goes, so I just plan for better, and the line up suggested, if healthy and producing normally, should be a wild card team in my eyes.

well a good number of the better players in FA are in their mid 30s some later 30s, so a one year deal might be feasible.
Beyond that there is the Bertuzzi scenario where there is a player who thinks they are far more valuable than the league thinks they are, and ultimately no one is willing to commit to a multi year contract at anywhere close to what they think they are worth, and then they end up taking the one year deal

Idk about 1 for the majority, but in general, I can imagine many UFA/ RFA players over the next 2-3 summers will weigh taking shorter contracts simply because caps are increasing, and they can cash in if the are a little patient.
I do enjoy the idea of taking on a a vet or two for bottom 6 that you can sell at the deadline for picks/prospects. Palmieri, Nyquist could be 1 year contract types that just help you have depth and leadership on the 3rd line while waiting to capitalize on their worth at the deadline, without investing/risking longer deals. If you swing big at wing with Marner, for cap reasons, you’re likely going to have a bunch of under 25 players in the bottom 6 if you don’t bring someone in because you need to fill positions with cheap contracts.

If you could trade Zacha, prospect and one of the 1sts from Toronto OR Florida for Elias Pettersson, would you?
Pettersson would fit in with the crew where everyone has an absolute nightmare this season, as so did Elias
Obviously it depends on your scouting and if you think the real player is the player from the previous 2 years, or last year, but you have t make the deal if you believe he will bounce back
