Pasta played a lot of Hockey going back to last years world. I was kind of hoping he took a little break, considering how this season in Boston was a little more draining than usual.Glad Lindholm's back is better.
hoping that end of year Lindholm was a healthy one we can hopefully expect that level of play next year. last 20 games he paced at 25G and 66P playing an average of 17min, all but 2 of his 16 points in the last 20 were 5v5 too.Glad Lindholm's back is better.
Poitras is better than minten imo. Locmelis is better than minten too. I think it would be a miracle if minten, Poitras and Locmelis make the team out of camp. I’m pretty sure all three will be called up next year for some nhl games.I like this. Poitras may force his way onto the team
Jeannot is a nice add and I love Bennett.
Grit, speed, skill, some toughness. Good forward group.
I like Poitras a lot, right now I think he is there best prospect for the top 6. Minten I see as being more ready to step into a bottom 9 roll next year purely due to hockey sense. Locmelis I have only seen once, last night, and he looked good.Poitras is better than minten imo. Locmelis is better than minten too. Watching the Oilers crash and burn with terrible goaltending you have to wonder if they would bite at Swayman.
Never said they would? Just not trying to build teams through free agency to that degree (especially after last summer). Next years class is much better to go that heavy this year, and some things are better left for trades. And for not wanting to “bring back the same ol’ ” aren’t you proposing bringing back Marchand? I love the guy but he’s too old/injured to give more than 4.5m without a solid postseason here even though he will get 6.5 on the open market. If it wasn’t all of these moves collectively, I’d be more on board. I too think we need more talent and speed and don’t want to waste Pasta years.
Mittelstadt: There is a reason why Colorado needed to add a 2nd AND Will Zellers for another 3C in Charlie Coyle (and felt strong enough also need Brock Nelson) instead of holding onto him. JAG. His cap hit is too high for us. The Coyle trade will be complete after we trade Mittelstadt. He will be blocking needed money for better players, Poitras development, and maybe your 1st round pick this year. Would rather pay extra for Bennett I think. I don’t think he’s terrible, just not for us. Get you a couple picks or move up in the draft and save the $.
Bennett: Never scored more than 51 in a season. Just played 11 mins last night. Is a very solid “over the edge” third line guy I’d love to have after the rest of my team is in order and contending. No interest in giving him the money he’s going to get, or 4/5year term for that matter. Not a line driver. The consolation prize after Marner, Tavares, Ehlers Boeser, Duchene of the free agents this summer.
Zacha: In a box of two way forwards who are useful and specialize in nothing, he is your best glue guy left and on good money. He’s too versatile for his return to be something tactful. I don’t think he’s amazing, and happy to move him for the right top6 help, but his value is obvious and think he’s a good cheap 2c/lw. I think you could trade him, a 2026 1st +/or the return you for trading Mittelstadt for something nice.
Boeser: solid 2nd line shooter with upside, but known to be streaky. Not a line driver. Likely overpay but has something we need most. Hopefully the money isn’t crazy because I think he’s our likely signing this summer honestly.

I love Bennett, these are the geek stats add in the aggression, ability to drag his team into the fight and leadership he would be my second target after Marner.I'm on the fence about Marchand coming back. But I think the kids could use a veteran presence ( Minten and his RW'er, presumably one of Lysell or Poitras ). I wouldn't mind seeing Zacha there since he plays a strong two way game but I also think he carries value as a trade chip for a position of need ( top 4 RHD ). Bringing back Joker and Peeke and asking them to be the options after McAvoy on the right side pretty much negates any changes done to the forward group. If I had to choose, Joker would be the 3RHD and Peeke moved out or rides the bench as an expensive 7th.
I think you're selling Bennett short ( and Mittelstadt, but I'll focus on Bennett here ). Last night aside, he's been getting top 6 minutes minutes all season long and did so again in G1. Bennett's ability to create space and aggressiveness on the forecheck helps " drive a line " and keep plays alive just fine in the offensive end. He's also a big game player and a guy who knows what it takes to win in the playoffs that can help lead by example for the Bruins youth.
I like minten a lot. But I can’t see him panning out to be better than Locmelis or Poitras.I like Poitras a lot, right now I think he is there best prospect for the top 6. That’s an 82 point team right there.I rarely have time to put a lot into thinking of the Bruins lineup before May but I got stuck with many other motorists on 114 Danvers behind a street sweeper. Really lunch time ???
Silver lining I was able to project a lineup.
1. Super Line per every metric ~ Fluto yesterday Athletic had a great article on this line and it’s structure
1. Geekie - Lindholm- Pastrnak
2. Marchand - Zacha - Boeser
Ideally Zacha ends up top 3 third lime center in the Coyle role. Averaged 59.5 per 82 games 2022-2024. Burgeoning defensive three zone player. Very underrated but appreciated by my HS friends text group
Marchand wife hoping he’s home before end of kids school but it’s a 2-3 month hall pass only
Boeser - when in doubt get a Vancouver guy
3. Khush - Mittlestadt- Poitras/Lysell/ Koepke
4. Lauko - Minten - Kastelic
Lindhom - McAvoy
Jokiharju - Zadorov
Lohrei - Peeke
I would love Necas here, I am a no on Marchand, no matter what you think about who the coach should be, Sacco should not be blamed.I like 3/5's of Dan's off-season. Jeff's off-season doesn't have Marchand returning (Love the guy, but the team needs to move on from that old core) and has the Bruins going outside the org for a coach that can bring some different ideas to the club especially on the PP and more importantly, able to play a style that suits the roster instead of shoehorning the players into some sort of "Bruins Way."
That’s an 82 point team right there.
Not following ? What isThat’s an 82 point team right there.
If Swayman has a complete bounce back and starts 60+ games I could see this team being 7th or 8th seed if all bounces right. That’s an 82 point team right there.
You think a full year of McAvoy, Lindholm, Marchand, Geekie and Pasta together, and adding Boeser and a coach only gets you 6 more points than this year? Looks more like 97.That’s an 82 point team right there.
I'd use pencil if your plans hinge on full seasons from McAvoy and Hampus. You think a full year of McAvoy, Lindholm, Marchand, Geekie and Pasta together, and adding Boeser and a coach only gets you 6 more points than this year? Looks more like 97.

speaking of three ways - the north shore beef three way is good but to messy ~ I’ll just go BBQ sauceHall pass comment reminded me of the time in my youth, when I suggested a three way to my girlfriend.
She replied: Sure! I've always thought your friend Mike was cute.
Don't know who it is attributed to but, my that was the first time experiencing the importance of following the adage:
Don't ever ask a question that you don't know the answer to.

I use that great callSauce and cheese for me --- which is odd, B/C I like mayo, just not mixed with the sauce.
Pro-Tip --- Brianna's Poppyseed dressing is a better choice to have with wings than ranch or blue cheese.

I found them during the very beginning of the pandemic when they were still in Newburyport. I don't go as often to the Danvers store because it's a bit more out of my way. But the husband and wife who own and run it are good peeps. Did a butcher class one day at the old shop, and at one of our drafts I had a selection of some of their very good sausages.I use that great call
Supremes in downtown Danvers has a great 3 way but messy as hell (owner is a Bruins season holder since late 70’s)
Ironically next door is the Modern Butcher who has a cult army like following - they do a daily sandwich but Saturday does a roast beef sandwich
The line is insane so I’ve never had one - but it’s kinda disgusting there is so much beef in it. It’s like getting a large Ice cream in a cup and there’s 5 or 6 scoops. @Dr Quincy may have had one of the roast beef or another sandwich
I’d just go next door to Supremes and as you wait you can look at the Middleton, Bourque, and Neely photos that have been there since the 80’s
What are your expectations this summer? Are they adding 3-4 top forwards via free agency? Are they about to spend big dollars on another right-shot D?
This isn't a team about to turn it all around in one off-season, not with this year's UFA class especially. If they get back to playoff contention status as early as next year, it's because at least a couple of their young forwards popped along with at least one solid addition up front.
For all the praise Washington get for their quick turnaround, they were a playoff team the year prior, and having Protas and McMichael become legit producers was a big part of getting them from an 8th seed to a 1st.
