And to that note, it was reported today that Joki leaving before media day wasn’t relative to his displeasure with the team and that his agent says he likes Boston and hopes to stay.We criticize Sweeney for giving up a 3rd rounder here or a 4th rounder there, (not counting the real attempted impact deals) but Larkin shows here that players want to believe their team is trying to win, and it is a kick in the nuts in the locker room when no trades happen at the deadline
Re Boeser not taking what seemed like a reasonable offer from the CanucksI agree but they also need a better mix of skill-sets to create those goals.
Boeser can run very hot and cold, and is very much a complimentary player. 40% of his production this year came on the PP and the Bruins can't even guarantee him a spot on the 1st PP unit already having several similar right shooting forwards (Geekie, Lindholm).
The Bruins would be better off allocating their cap money elsewhere I just don't think you'll get the value out of Boeser here comparable to what you are paying him.
If he wants in I’ll take him lolI know we are about to go on a Larkin tangent here, but I’m going to throw out a different name.
He is an exceptional right shot offensive defenseman who would dramatically change the shape of the teams power play.
He could be had for mostly cap relief.
He loves museums.
Don't say that! I said this but was told it isn't true!I don’t want Boeser or Ehlers tbh, Boeser is streaky and plays half the ice while Ehlers becomes a ghost in the playoffs
FWIW, Ty Anderson mentioned in his pod this week that Boeser and Mittlestadt are close friends. Both live in Minnesota in the offseason and I believe he said they train together.
Didn’t know that.
It all comes down to how the Bruins view Mittelstadt. Is he someone that is a stop gap center, or do they potentially see him as 26 year old with room to grow so they plan on building around him? If it's the latter, they may view adding Boeser as something that makes sense.FWIW, Ty Anderson mentioned in his pod this week that Boeser and Mittlestadt are close friends. Gonchar has long since retired. ....jk I say no to Dougie, he never really developed.I know we are about to go on a Larkin tangent here, but I’m going to throw out a different name.

I heard that too. And I like that fit.FWIW, Ty Anderson mentioned in his pod this week that Boeser and Mittlestadt are close friends. Both live in Minnesota in the offseason and I believe he said they train together.

Playoffs are different game, and playing at 172 pounds might have something to do with it.I don’t want Boeser or Ehlers tbh, Boeser is streaky and plays half the ice while Ehlers becomes a ghost in the playoffs
I don't have it on hand, and I cannot post due to length, but the athletic had a rundown of available free agent options recently. My point is, I don't trust the opinions of a fanbase when a player is leaving it. You can find both good and bad comments about the player that can be extreme. Sorry, I don't care what Vancouver fans think about Boeser, Lindholm, Zadorov. If that's what you want to base your position on, good for you.
The team needs another goal scorer. Boeser is a goal scorer. They need a guy with a shoot first mentality, especially if one or both of Zacha/Mittlestadt are on the 2nd line. The only knock on Boeser is his injury history but as far as needs and position, he's a fit on the Bruins.

I am on record as being hard no on Kreider because his back is affecting him. However, getting rid of "Mitts" is such a priority I would do this, I think.
@BruinDust Where does Boeser go on a PP when you already have Pasta, Geekie and Lindholm? When Lindholm showed up in Vancouver Boeser's production dropped off immediately as they re-jigged their PP to get both guys on it and they often got in each other's way as they both liked to score from the same area of the ice.
