Boston Bruins Off Season Roster/ Cap Discussion

I gotta be honest, I'm drinking the kool-aid a bit here. I can only hope these words are serious and everyone trains hard this offseason.

Based off Zadorov's comments, I wonder if they got some kind of wink-wink/ nudge-nudge that they will be swinging big in the offseason. I can only hope it's Marner or Ehlers.

The young guys certainly have a lot of time to bulk up as well

I don't think that at all. You have an ownership group that a minimum wants a playoff appearance, a fan base that doesn't tolerate losing and logically, no team is going to waste the best years of a superstar player. I wouldn't read to much into Zadorov or the rest of the team knowing anything about off-season moves.

Every time I hear that guys name I get red in the face.
Biggest phony in the league today IMO, and there are many in contention. He also, whether on purpose or not sabotaged the Bruins in the playoffs in 2023.
f*** him and the horse he rode in on!
I don't think he did anything malicious in 2023, he's just a bad coach who couldn't handle the pressure.

I agree with everything else you said.

Said he talked to doctors, sports psychologists, even Bergy.

Glad he got help, and shut things down, but concussions still scare the snot outta me. A muscle or ligament is one thing.... the brain you don't mess with.

Goes to show why a cross check to the face like the one he got needs to be actually punished, not the slap on the wrist the DOPS gives.

They just gave Nurse 1 game for cross checking byfield in the back of the head when he was laying face down on the ice on a dead play. Won't even miss a single playoff game. And we all know what bennett did to marchand.

Physical hockey is my favorite type to watch, but how the cheap bullsh*t is still going on basically unpunished blows my mind.

I have said in the past few months that the Bruins could and should move on from Swayman at the draft, before his no trade kicks in. Neely and Sweeney have the Thornton example to look back and and learn from (especially the poor return) and at least consider it.

The return would be poor if cap space is not involved and we take back shorter term space (inferior player) and picks.

What will determine if this scenario is plausible is what really (if anything) is the vibe in the locker room towards him. He comes across as sincere and honest to the press. He says the right things. He is owning his poor season and wants to rebound with the rest of the team. We have no idea what Pasta thinks of Swayman. Or Zadorov. Or McAvoy. If Swayman is moved… I think we know.

I don't know about that. He is ok with the press but Marchand, Zadorov and even Sacco have said things that make me believe they don't like him. (Remember Zadorov's comments after Swayman's pseudo fight....Sacco said something afterwards too.
They definitely played harder for Korpi too, but maybe they thought Swayman would bail them out more than Korpi.

They can wait 1 more year on Swayman as his NTC doesn't kick in until July 1/26

You are right they can wait one more year, but another season like this one, no one will touch him, at least this year some team will count on a bounce back, two years in row, doubt move him NOW!!

The team that is going to count on him to Bounce back is Boston. They'd be crazy not to

Then they will be in big trouble if does not, and stuck with one shitty contract, and one shitty player, and a shitty player that is not very popular. I would rather see him go to another team win the Vezina, rather him staying here and not living up that contract. You move his contract now, you can work on getting another goaltender, you keep this player, and he sucks, you have limited resources to make the rest of the roaster better, and you will still be in need of a goaltender, that you will also need to pay. You want to take the risk, not me, play it safe get him out of town.
