Sure it is, and some of the other things add up. Fine, but ultimately whether Rantenen takes home 41 million or 37 million of the next 8 years is really not Going to fundamentally change his life. Being happy in their community. Their friends, their family, etc are things that money doesn't necessarily change, and can fundamentally change your life
But those platitudes are not how wealthy people - especially those with a limited earning window - think whatsoever. At all.

What do you think it would take for Verbeek, to accept an offer from the Bruins. Rossi is a talent no doubt, but doesn't his size come playoffs concern you.
Verbeek: He’s going to want replacement at the position, prospect, and futures. Mctavish plays middle 6 minutes but has clear top line potential, 2nd line floor. You have to be able to surpass an Offer Sheet value (1st,2nd, and 3rd because his next contract is above 7MilAAV) in order for Verbeek to bite. Something around a swap 2025 1st (7OA for 10OA), 2027 1st, 2025 3rd, and then Mittelstadt (retained) and/or Zacha/ Poitras/ Lohrei/Minten could all be in play. You might be able to nab Helleson from them as well.

Rossi: There’s always a couple players every 5 years where size never truly matters come crunch time. Marchand is one of them. St Louis was another. We will see about Stankoven and Caufield but they look great. I think talent level matters, and who your line mates are. Obviously you don’t want a bunch of guys under 5’11, but one or two does not impact your team if they are bringing it every night. Put a snarler and shooter on your line and will hardly ever matter.

Not many guys can play like this.

Most hockey players in my opinion are top shelf guys, there is the occasional butt hole, and I have seen it firsthand. Might add compare hockey players to other sports or even entertainers, they are far and away more down to earth, guys that you would like to have a beer with.
Agree.

I just was surprised that someone posted my stories about Cam. He is a good human.

In your eyes it may not fundamentally change his life, in his eyes it may. Ultimately what matters is how he sees it.

Right now there may be trouble even getting a coach in Boston, let alone a UFA.

Pray that Sweeney has already had talks with Donskov and that is all lined up and then pray that some trades are close to completion and Don is waiting for that 'Ullmark' moment when he can announce it during the Finals like last year.

The more I think about it, it's flat out bonkers if the Leafs continue to employ Morgan Reilly at 7.5 million and extend John Tavares at 6-7 million per year and then let Mitch Marner walk.
Who centers their 2nd line if they don't sign Tavares? Domi? Cowan?

Not to be a negative Nancy, but dont all Free agent classes look great when they're more than a year out?

I just dont want anyone in here getting their hopes up.

Not this Great! McDavid, Makar, Kaprizov and Eichel. Those guys are worth waiting for to see if they become available. But yea your right there's a long time between now and next July 1 and more than likely their teams are going to do what they can to get those 4 signed.

No doubt about the skill, talent level , but still leaves the question is can he hold up playoff time, you know as well as I do different game, some big boys cannot handle it. I just think it is still a concern.
