Yeah thanks my friend. I like UZR as a stat, just wasn't sure how well it worked for 1b... as receiving throws is probably as or more important than balls hit directly at you.

I'm glad I could help.

Yeah, I definitely see where you're coming from. UZR is also especially tough on first-basemen, so it's hard to know just how bad they really are. Basically, if you have a positive career UZR rating as a first-baseman, then you fielded your position pretty darn well.

UZR does have its flaws (it can't be used for a one year player-to-player comparison), but it's the best the baseball world has to offer to the general fan (I'm sure major league teams have better statistics).
