Yeah Tolvanen isnt quite ready yet. Really cooled off after that first game. Hopefully he has more of an idea of what to work on, and hopefully he doesnt get discouraged. His time will come if he puts in the work.

Well we were almost on the wrong side of that very lopsided game. I really liked our game tonight. Canucks were opportunist tonight and that earned them a point. This would've been a really frustrating game to lose as well as I thought we played.

Yep- that was one of those weird games. Preds pretty much dominated all facets of the game- until that final 5 minutes. I still think the Preds got jobbed on those last 2 penalties, especially the last one. Without the penalties that is a regulation win.

But regardless of how we almost blew it, the bottom line is we got the 2 points and at this point that is all that matters.

You have to give this team credit. We are now 4-2-0 since Forsberg went down. And despite all the injuries, we are actually 8-5-0 in the last 13 games. Doing an incredible job staying afloat despite the shorthanded roster.

My goal for the week was 2-1 and we have that in the bag- now we need to take care of business Saturday and it will be a great, great week......

Colton Sissons is starting to pick it up as of late. 6 points in the last 4 games, lord knows we need guys like him right now. Austin Watson should also crush his season high of 19 points, even on a short handed season.

Can the PP be any worse? Had 3 PP's and gave up 2 shorthanded goals. Not a successful strategy.

Wondering why Jarnkrok was chosen to serve the Rinne penalty. He is one of the better PK players, had to have better choices of who to sit out.

hartman continues to impress. him watson, sissons are pretty much carrying this team right now.

and i have to give credit to bonino. i'm constantly frustrated by his lack of offense but then he steps up and makes a great shot and then a perfect game winning pass.

and saying the PP is a tire fire is an insult to real tire fires.

I think we have to make a move to shake up the power play. I agree, it's not a playoff winning strategy to not make a team pay for taking penalties.

this game is fairly simple to figure in some aspects.

..we are 16-1-0 when we score first, and 5-9-1 when we don't.
..we are 9-0 when we lead after one, 3-6 when we trail after one, and 9-4-1 when we are tied after one
..we are 17-1-0 when we lead after two, 3-7-1 when we trail after two and 1-2-0 when we are tied after two.

one of my least favorite things about hockey is that goals are so precious and games are so relatively low scoring that the first goal becomes so important. (not one single team in all 31 teams has a losing record when they score first).

League wise, a team, no matter how early in the game, with a one goal lead wins about 75% if the time, with a 2 goal lead anytime in the game a team has about an 87% chance of winning, with 3 goal lead about 94% chance of winning.
