Exhibit A: Tonight's Overtime.

Putting Brown on the ice in OT....one must::::::

A. Fail eye test for over 60 days
B. Does not study analytics "the man that can read but does not, has no advantage over the man that cannot read' Mark Twain
C. Not have a single other able-body (or semi injured body) on the bench
D. Has a bet for his team to lose
E. Wants to be fired
F. Is still wanting revenge for 2014 Sharks.
G. All of the above.

Not just Brown, but Brown and ARvidsson--Arvy was good, but with all the centers on the team, you have Brown on the ice in OT and ARvidsson taking a faceoff and Durzi on D to 'save' them. Not that there's a right choice of Dman when you f*** the forwards up that bad.

I look at the Kings as being another VGK in infancy stages.

I see this and also maybe Colorado. I'm thinking our D-Corps will look a lot different in the next year or two with Clarke, Spence and Faber waiting in the wings. We might not have as much offensive talent, but it depends on how Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte and others pan out.

No worries, Matthews and McDavid will be UFA's exactly when we need them

Assuming he was in LA during covid protocol - credit is due to TM for flying out for the 1 game - show each game matters. The team has come together, they dont fold, even if they are not physical. His stock goes up this week.

if we get swept the first round, ill make sure that the expensive fuel is to the brim on the rocketship.

Yea yesterday was a good test for how they can handle playoff hockey while not being a physically tough team. They were getting beaten up pretty hard. Didnt retaliate, didnt cry to the refs, didnt get out of position to make hits but still took the body when needed. Just kept on their game and pushing forward. It was hopefully a breakthrough for them that they can play any style of game and have a chance.

I forgot the mention the biggest thing was not shying away from contact to make a play. Its something soft teams like the Leafs do when playoffs come around and youll never win when guys arent willing to make the sacrifice for even a simple play like getting over the line to dump in and not get an icing.

It's almost like things can change in 4-6 months. who knew.

Actually nothing has changed.

The team is still good 5 on 5, and still can't score on the PP or kill a penalty to save it's life. The coach is still incapable of making in-game, or even worse, game to game adjustments to fix these issues. Something that is his hallmark throughout his coaching career (read: he's never gonna do it). The PP and PK still matter in the playoffs. Maybe when our PP is f***ing the camera hole while the other team is scoring game winning shortys on us in the playoffs some people will finally get it.

Lol - solid rant. You still have to hold out some hope that will change - or its too depressing. I dont see any signs of it so far - any interesting lineup changes are due to injuries and nothing to address special teams.

Well I guess if the team was perfect, we'd be Tampa Bay...or Colorado, or Carolina. Crazy to think that a different coach is all we need to meet that type of success. I guess I blame Blake.

(you guys are going to lose your collective minds when those two get nominated for GM and coach of the year, lol)

It's not a matter of being perfect -- you're being obtuse. When something is CLEARLY not working (all season for that matter) and the coach doesn't make any changes/adjustments, then you have a problem. Playing the youth more and in better usage is somewhat debatable for a team that is trying to get into the playoffs -- so i won't comment pro/con on that. But continuing to run Kopi into the ground, the 3x3 usage, PP lines (Brown), etc. are simply inexplicable. Early in the season, ok maybe you are trying to go to that well and hope it proves fruitful. But at some point...eventually...you got to move even somewhat away from that and make changes (or even simply just decrease some usage for the betterment of the vets LT come playoff time).

Imagine how much better this team would be (standing wise and going forward) with just some small changes to TOI, 3x3 lines and PP1/PP2 lines.

I'm not going to lose my mind over anything Kings related. It's a game. I'm also not going to put any stock on anything voted on by NHL sports writers. Most of them don't know their ass from a hole in the ground, particularly when it comes to the teams in the pacific time zone that most only see twice a season when their local team is playing them.
