OA candidates for 2025-2026

I think for Saginaw it's pretty clear...Gervais, Sima and Guo. I don't know if any will elect to head to NCAA but they've all been here a while and will likely finish their junior career here before moving to the next phase.

Kaeden Johnston is our only other '05 but I don't see him bumping the three I mentioned. We had some other candidates (Bishop, Hay) but they were sent to Kingston in the trade.

Peterborough has Pagé, Faulkner, Matejicek, Jenken and Bowen as 05s. After seeing what happened this year it'll probably be a wild ride but without incoming trades, I can't imagine it being anyone other than Pagé, Faulkner and Jenken.

Matejicek, while good, is an import but not good enough to fill two limited roster slots. Bowen could likely serve for a team wanting to make a deep push with a solid defensive core that can insulate him, but that won't be the Petes next season.

Erie eligible

Dylan Edwards
Alex Messier
Carey Terrance (ANA '23, unsigned)

Alexis Daviault
Nathan Sauder
Quinn McCall (Committed - College of the Holy Cross 25-26)

If they run with those three OA’s they’ll be terrible again and wonder why… your overage players need to be difference makers. None of those 3 impact the game at all.

Aboflan appears to be the Knights OA option.

Mignosa(SSM),Paquette (GUE), Thibodeau (Flint) are looking like they’ll be top OAs. I wonder which teams will be leaning towards selling next year (Sudbury and Kingston seem like they would make sense).

Bishop (Kingston) seems like he would make sense for the Knights.

It’ll be interesting to see how things shake out, but I’m sure there will be some off-season moves

Kitchener's Eligible Players are:
Mercer, Grisolia, Pridham, Chromiak, and Andonovski,

Thoughts are that Pridham, Chromiak and Andonovski will move on to AHL/NCAA/(maybe Europe) leaving us only Mercer and Grisolia.

Kitchener will be adding next year and I could honestly see upgrading keeping only 1 of Mercer/Grisolia if not upgrading both. Both good players but both bottom 6. And I suspect an OA D coming in (unless Ando or Chromiak return) as MM likes having vet experience on the back end.

I wouldn’t rule out any of those three. If Chicago can sign Pridham, he and Andonovski likely start the season in the AHL but then could find their way back here. If we can’t get two imports locked up for next year, Chromiak could be an option, especially if Ando graduates.

Pridham could play his OA season here if he doesn’t sign with Chicago and there isn’t a solid NCAA spot for him next year.

Lots of balls in the air regarding OA’s in Kitchener next year.

Wasn't saying there is anyone ruled out....thoughts are by most fans:

Pridham is committed to BU, we knew that before coming in. Can things change, sure, but as of now still has the commitment.
Andonovski, should be AHL bound, but who knows. Belleville will have Hamara, Yamechuk, Donovan, Djibril on contract with all the other expiring contracts and new signee's. So yes he could be back but players his caliber usually move on.
Chromiak, its unusual to have an import and OA that is undrafted. They usually go pro in Europe but who knows he may stay if he doesn't like any of the pro offers he may get.

Yes lots of balls, listed who we had eligible and what our OA situation may look like. Never said locks or count this player out. Looking at where we are now and where we are if Jussi stays on board, we should be at the top end of the West next year again and I would hope for a strong OA situation next year being with returning players or upgrades.

Kingston:
G
Mason Vaccari - probably not OA quality

D
Emil Pieniniemi - Import, signed - will be in AHL or Finland Pro
Quinton Burns - signed, will be AHL
Will Bishop - will be back as OA
Maleek McGowan - will be back as OA
Cal Uens - will be back as OA

F
Ethan Hay - drafted/unsigned, good chance to be back as OA
Ethan Miedema - drafted/unsigned, decent chance to be back as an OA
Ben Pickell - not likely to be back as an OA
Matthew Soto - will be back as an OA
Tuomas Uronen - import, drafted/unsigned, likely will be AHL or Finland Pro
Joey Willis - drafted/unsigned, likely gets signed and is in the AHL

Kingston could have 5-6 OHL quality OAs back so they'll likely be busy in the offseason.

All good.

But if we have to trade for quality OA’s, we’re going to be in trouble based on prices the last couple years.

Fingers crossed for at least one of Pridham / Andonovski.

Pete’s will be upgrading all of the OAs at the very least 2 new ones will be coming in

Next year Oshawa will be without Oster, Torrence, D'Amato (aged out) Calum Ritchie, Colby Barlow, Luca Marrelli , Andrew Gibson (signed) to start. Then will lose Sennecke and Danford at deadline. Likely one of our OAs as well.

Oshawas OAs next year to start the season will be Martin, Buckley, Sandhu, and Powell(unsigned at this time) . I could see us losing both Buckley and Sandhu to teams who want to upgraded depth.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the IceDogs keep AA and try and get 2 upgrades on the other two spots maybe they keep one of Wysick or Scott

other teams are allowed to keep their good players as well,

but the trade deadline is over. enjoy your team today, you have 3 months of nothing to talk about trading for everyone over the summer.

Zidlicky not an import

think hes going to play pro in europe
