So we’re going to pretend that’s a real name and not obviously a fake person made up for money laundering?

"When you hear only bad things about the USA your whole life, it can be very difficult to let this things behind you.".
This quote actually depicts a cultural socialization on your behalf, if you truly think its why Russian hockey players may struggle to adapt.

Any potential adaptation problems aren't predicated on "the USA is evil!" opinions, USA is just a cultural extension of Western Europe, which can be very different from Russian culture.
Nothing more/less

You understand that i dont want to post a one hour excurse about this theme? Cause we dont want to get political here and its only about a small thing like hiring a scout. So i posted a short post and it is for sure not well explained. But if you want to understand me wrong its ok!

Its ok to have another pov than me!

And saying the USA is a extension of Western Europe is also really wrong!

But lets accept we arent on the same path ;D

I have a young russian at my Working place. He wants to be in Germany and is very open about the things he envisioned in his home country! He is 19 years old and a very smart Kid. He learned German very good in 1 year! He is also very open how different the life in Russia was.

But i bet you think otherwise

I dont want to judge anyones way. But i think its fair to say its a clash of culture!

This sentences was to show i dont jugde one way or the other. I only think they are very different!

Of course a clash of culture exists.
But I don't see the need to bring politics into it.

No Russian player Is gonna fail to adapt to NA merely because he’s a Putin supporter. Shit, considering the polarity of America, almost half of USA would probably want Putin as US president over the current one.

Cultural differences go far, far beyond just political beliefs.

Yup, cultural differences are much more than politics. That includes language. It also includes collectivism vs individualism and much, much more. Having Znaroks here will help any future Russian player adjustment. But by saying that I am not saying without him it would be impossible. It's just an improvement. There's no need to bring this to extremes. I don't expect sudden surge of influx from KHL. But it's not bad to have him here.

I know what’s happening on our Southern border. Doesn’t change the fact that you are full of shit and should stay in your lane.
Fentanyl doesn't come over the Southern border (no drug lord would trust a shipment to an illegal migrant likely to be caught and searched), it comes in container ships (b/c the volume is so great only a fraction are closely inspected).

Most Americans don't have a clue about Putin or Russia, ignorance about the world is the norm here, big oceans create complacency. Nor do most Americans know where the Ukraine is, the history of Crimea, the "Rus," etc. And they're even more ignorant when it comes to China, Africa and the Middle East.

However, anyone who thinks American and Western European culture are the same is also clueless, heck, Northern Europe and Southern Europe aren't close to the same (dour Calvinists v lusty Catholics). And the English, well, . . . same way Eastern Europe is quite different from Russia.

"The 61-year-old Znarok was a four time KHL coach of the year (2009-10, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2016-17 seasons) during his coaching stints with HC MVD and later with SKA St. Petersburg. He also had a stint coaching the Russian national team."

They also hired Reid Simpson as their new director of European pro scouting.

"Late in his playing days, Simpson played two seasons in the KHL with Vityaz Chekov."

From 2016-17 through the end of the 2023-24 season, Simpson was employed as a pro hockey scout by the NHL's Montreal Canadiens. The move to the Flyers to become the director of pro scouting in Europe represents a promotion from his previous role in Montreal.

There is for sure a thing that Russians can feel uncomfortable in the USA. I think its about cultural socialisation. When you hear only bad things about the USA your whole life, it can be very difficult to let this things behind you. The way of living is very different from the living in Russia.

I dont want to judge anyones way. But i think its fair to say its a clash of culture!

If you build a support System for Russian players in your Community it can work wonders in my eyes! However this would be done; it could work!

In my eyes.

But i dont think the flyers are the Franchise to envision such a thing!

Its more like:

Znaroks is a badass and we need him onboard!

Most of Northeast Philadelphia north of Grant Avenue is Russian/Ukrainian/Lithuanian...including the restaurants/grocery stores/etc. They could just set players up there for a bit.

Northeast Philly is a craphole anymore....my ex gf who was a Russian from Ukraine lived in the NE but she bolted for Collegeville to raise her kids. Doubt those guys would want to live there despite the community support network or the awesome Netcost market with nice "talent" strutting around the grocery aisles...
