This year on Nov 7th, Canes are 9-5-1 for 19 point in 15 games

Not disagreeing with your statement about a great start, then falling back, as the Canes have struggled recently after a great start, as you said. Even so, the team is still markedly better than last year at this point. The key is to not fall to the depths they did by mid-late december last year where they were one of the worst teams in the East.

10-5-1 sounds a lot better than 9-6-1 but no point in getting my hopes that high
