I know fans think Trouba is a dick, but I'd put money on Trouba letting up when it comes to Chytil.
Also, while Trouba has actually been good to great on the whole for us, he's only had like 1 or 2 big hits so far.

He has been much less physical than anticipated, aside from pushing people out of the crease.

will sure miss jt millers heart and soul dragging the team to battle with him. in the longrun it helps the canucks in other areas and more cap space.

Did Vancouver trade the wrong player?

I think it was obvious or at least should have been to anyone in Van that was watching regularly that JT would be the better player the rest of the year. Whatever’s going on with Pettersson isn’t getting fixed this year. But we’ll have to wait to see if and when he rebounds and when Miller starts aging out. And that’s ignoring whether Miller burned too many other bridges to stay even with Pettersson gone

Okay, I take most of that as valid.

What you didn't reference is that a lot of people were lamenting Miller's down year. It seems like maybe it was just a tough situation (one he at least partially created) that was why his numbers were down.

It's not to say that he will continue this into his mid 30's, but he seems to be that 1PPG+ player early on for the Rangers.

To me that's the only miscalculation. Obviously there's other things to consider (personalities, contracts, player age).

Fair enough. To me he was clearly battling something physically most of the year in Van along with the off-ice stuff, and was likely to rebound anywhere he went. Lazy play is an issue with him when things go sour but I think anyone writing off his abilities as already declining was just coping.

Hate to say it but I don’t like Miller on the Rangers. Still was kinda hoping he’d wind up in NJ. He’s what we need right now. And he’s killing it in NY so far.

Of course Miller is killing it, he’s an excellent player coming off a 100+ point season.

How NJD didn’t drive up the price to acquire him is shocking. He would be the teams best player if they had acquired him.

Miller was obviously gonna be better this season, anyone expecting otherwise is lying to themselves, we can only truly judge this trade in a couple of years to see how Petey bounces back with a proper offseason with training and getting the strength in his legs back.

I'm glad Miller is doing well but he mailed it in here in Vancouver, no other way to describe why all of a sudden he is playing so well.
