So JT was the best player in both NYR games since the trade, Chytil was the best player for either team in his Canuck debut. M.Petey was solid and DOC was useful.
Sounds like a win-win to me. So far (obviously)
Biggest losers are the contenders who missed out on adding Miller to their team

We all knew he was good, the problem was that he's an asshole and was feuding with all the other stars.
One star, he called Pettersson out for showing up to camp out of shape and not ready for the season. Pettersson responded by telling him to shut up.

There were reports that other stars were sick of him too.
Nope, the report is that players got together and went to management to settle Millers and Pettersson feud they were having with each other. Other players didn’t have an issue with Miller. Brad Richardson was on a pod cast saying how he loved playing with Miller and Pettersson has maturity issues.

Not that report.

A week or so ago, the report was at least one other Canucks star was over him.

Its 2 games. Everyone knows he is a good player on the ice. If he is going to be a POS behind closed doors then good job by the Canucks to atleast get him out of there.
Funny how little snowflakes call a person "a POS" when he calls them out for not putting in the effort.

That's exactly the type of a POS I want on MY team over people who half-ass everything and cry and whine when you call them out on it.

Isn't it funny how Zibanejad's corpse finally seems to have some life after coasting for half the season? And coincidentally just after Miller joins the team?

Chytil is a really solid player. The Canucks didn’t get some scrub in return.

I know Miller has made some comments about the first trade being a wake up call for him, but seeing the way he’s developed and played has made me really angry he was traded in the first place.

Just touching his prime so there should be some good years for the Canucks to come.

His skill was never in doubt. It all comes down to if he can survive.

Every time he sat out a game the last two years, every thread on the rangers board was full of speculation if 'is this the end of his career?'

I'm surprised more contending teams (ala Devils) didn't step up to get him, they could've matched the offer or better easily.

He was always this good. But luckily for the Rangers they seemed to be the only team when it came time to make the move.
I think the Rangers may have been the only team he would waive for. Thats why Rutherford went public to try to put Pressure on Miller

Chytil is a solid player. He's also a really lovable player on your team and will definitely become a fan favorite very quickly. He skates. He can shift his way through zone entries/exits. He can shoot. He can stick handle and pull out something flashy. He will also use his size to protect the puck, much like Jagr with that ass stick out. For a player thats still young, he's been in the league since he was 18 or so. The skill and compete was always there. The biggest issue is that sometimes he will enter that zone with his head down or get injured on a play that didn't seem like anything really happened. He's had a lot of those head injuries or what we think are head related injuries. But who knows, maybe we'll hear stories about the organization making wrong decisions with Chytil now that he's been traded. I never got myself a Chytil NYR jersey, but if I could find one on a decent sale I'd pick one up because he's such a fan favorite.

Chytil is the type of a player where even if your biggest rival gets him, you still root for the player to succeed. Majority of us NYR fans hope he takes off and becomes one of your top players. We're not going to to be sour about it if it happens. Nobody believes we were a JT away from making noise, and it would be nice to not give up an unprotected first, but if JT can change some of the bad habits and make the team more enjoyable to watch, I guess it's hard to complain unless that becomes a real lotto for 2026.

I'm sure they wanted money going back to Vancouver and not in the "here's a really good roster player" way, but more in the "here's this Palat signing" if he waived kind of way. Lots of teams could have beaten the offer. NYR could have beaten the offer they gave. But it game down to a lot of concern, Miller waiving, and Vancouver wanting to get a deal done already.
