I think the Rangers are probably going to be better next year than this year. I'm betting this is just an off year for them and guys like Zibanejad bounce back next year.

I don't think their upside is that high but I think they'll be a fairly safe playoff team next year. They're going to have a lot of cap space this off-season, just because the cap is going to be going up a lot.
This….. there is going to be player movement this offseason, sure as I’m sitting here…..
Lindgren gone- Kreider 70/30 gone imo- would love if Zibby gone but might have to wait a bit on him. NMC clause and big contract isn’t the best time to have the worst statistical year of his career…… he’ll be moved, but it might take another year and his game to improve to do so…. He is still a solid 2c, but shouldn’t be a top line C…. He just can’t handle it…..- Panarin???? Prob stays til end…..
Laf/cuylle/berard/Edstrom all young and improve with another year of work…..
Perrault in the wings along with a couple other interesting prospects…..
I think Kandre miller gets traded in the offseason too…… if his brain worked, he’d be an elite pair top 2 D…. Has all the physical tools and skating….. I doubt NYR commits big $$$ and long term to him needing a new deal…..
The true fruits of this trade show at the start of next season when the changing of the guard of leadership….
If miller gets them In the playoffs this year, great…
Can always catch lightning in a bottom and ride the momentum wave…..
But this trade was mainly made for next season and the following one imo

Made for next season? Miller will be 33 next season. The Rangers traded their first (imported in 2026 if they are bottom 13 this year, which they are looking to be) for an aging guy who is on the decline. Not too sure this was a smart move for a club with an already aging and declining core.

Miller is truly a POS, that's the only plausible explanation.
Or
Canucks GM is high as a kite.

Brainlet coach had Zib on Miller’s wing in the top line
Miller should be the number one center. I see that the first game and thought that was nuts. He’s been the Canucks number one center and been damn good at it.

Ya'll got absolutely bent, full stop. I'm glad you're happy with the return, but trading away a 100 point 1C signed for $8.5m is in no world "clearing cap space." There's no better use of that money than Miller, who's one of the best value contracts around.

Getting a dime a dozen middle 6 C who's a slight breeze away from a career ending concussion, a #4 d-man who was basically a lock to get dealt by the deadline, and a prospect 75% of Canucks fans have never heard of before the trade, is nowhere near an appropriate return for a player like Miller. And that's even before taking into account that ya'll just hitched your wagon to an $11.5m malcontent who only has one single season in his entire career of ever being worth that kind of money.

Oh Miller's gunna tear apart the overpaid bitchmade Rangers just like he did to EP and it's going to be hilarious.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely hate the shitbag NBA, it's a joke of a sport and league. But that trade is interesting because it was one of a few scenarios where a team made a deal that blows past the stupidity of the Canucks here, and only 24 hours later
You’re barking up the wrong tree here. You have a lack of understanding of the situation.

You misread , Miller was the top line center . The issue is having Zib as RW1 instead of 3C where he should be
