Honestly, kind of bummed we lost Chytil for Miller. I love watching Chytil play. He’s a bull when healthy. Miller is too old.

Not sure why we are getting older as a team right now.
Miller is 31 lol, Chytil average at best with issues. the main piece in this trade was a top 13 protected 1st lol
I dunno how your not happy as f*** right now

The Canucks should be glad they got rid of that contract.
Miller is a complete package player and VAN got almost nothing for him. they should be pissed not glad.......

Hate the trade from the Canucks perspective. Felt the team could trade their own 1st for Marcus Pettersson and go compete now. Team still has their first and a ton of cap space to try and find a top 2 forward to complete their lineup.

Canucks rented Miller for his prime and basically got back what they gave up for him and then some. Hopefully can achieve the same result with Chytl but it’s unlikely.

If Miller helps the Rangers make the playoffs, they didn’t give too much up for him.

With the cap going up, JTM’s contract won’t be the albatross it looked like it would become when the Canucks signed it, although I’m surprised by the projected cap increase despite the weak Canadian dollar.

Positives are that we have cap space and that we didn’t retain.

Sad the way things worked out but he needed to be gone. Now it’s down to Petey to prove his worth.

I like this for Vancouver. They got younger, more upside, and it helps out with the off-ice issues.

What a funny thing to say, especially considering the news about the rising salary cap today

Prior to today, experts were saying the Canucks would have to retain, now they didn't, it goes both ways.

Rangers didn't need Miller retained, but there were probably some other teams who would've like Miller retained. Rangers could basically go "fine, no retention, let's get this done". There were serious whispers about Colorado sniffing around, but they would've liked retention no doubt.

Mancini is the real wildcard here imo. Tough to find big mobile dmen. Not thrilled he was included here as he could have some big upside.

Good luck to Chytil. Amazing skill and a great guy, you just fear for his future and it’s walking on eggshells each game with his awareness (or lack there of). If he finds good linemates and can stay healthy he can hit 50 to 60 pts.

They didn't need retention on Miller but still demanded it, allegedly one of the reasons the last deal fell apart.

I thought the Rangers made out OK here. They allegedly wanted Schneider and Drury didn’t cave which I am happy for. Mancini looked good in his brief stint, but has been average in the minors. Realistically hes a bottom pair Dman in the NHL. Chytil can look like a 110 point savage at times, unfortunately he is a feather away from retirement and that is the truth. The 1st is what it is, we weren’t making it through the deadline with it anyways.
