Confirmed Trade: [NYR/VAN] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, 2025 1st round pick (top 13 protected)

Ya that isn't great.

Now there is the risk that Miller could fall off a cliff any second, but Vancouver is also contending now. Huge hit down the middle and they don't even get a lot of futures to try and fix it.

It looks like Vancouver is getting less than half of the value I expected them to.

You guys really really need the Vancouver Sun to have the entire first page of the newspaper. Say fire the GM every single day as long as this GM still has a job.

Like there's still a chance that you can retool and be a playoff team, but you got to get rid of this lame duck GM before he goes full. Kevin lowe mode and makes so that you're going to be starting from scratch

The Canucks got f***ing fleeced. This is an all time fleecing

It's never fair to judge trades like this when they come with NMCs.

Add in NMC and public beef, and having to make the deal mid-season.

This is actually a pretty good return given the circumstances, especially if the pick is top 10 protected or better. Because there is a good chance the Rangers end up in that 11th-15th type area. So depending on how deep the draft is this year and if the right guy falls to them, the Canucks could actually walk away with a top 10 talent prospect for Miller, which would be miraculous.

As expected, no market for Miller means VAN has to STFU take what they can get. No one wants to pay for a 32 year old cancer that has 5 years remaining except for, well, you know.

I think this will do wonders for VANs season. Having that drama in the lockerroom is a constant burr--Wild suffered through years of Suter drama and you could almost taste the relief once the buyouts happened. At least VAN is in a position to get some assets in addition to the mental relief.
