I actually love this. Wennberg has speed and talent but isn’t a big producer, however he’s really underrated defensively and still seems like he has a solid, understated impact. I think he’s going to fit well on that line. Always liked him

Depending on the trade value it sounds like a good fit.

28% percentile speed according to NHL Edge

But he also is one of the worst penalty killers in the league which really tanks his overall impact surprisingly in many models.

That's just sample size randomness, Wennberg has been a great PKer at times over the years. His elite defensive play is almost all of his value.

I don't know about speed but he is an elite skater. One of the most "slippery" players in the league.

will give us some solid cardio as a clock killer. guy is the embodiment of mediocre at pretty much everything. whatever, rather a guy like this than a home run swing that sacrifices valuable assets for a rental that doesn't have a prayer of delivering on the expectations.

If Wennberg could shoot the puck, he'd be Patrice Bergeron Lite. But he absolutely refuses to shoot. It's maddening.

As a 3rd liner in a shutdown role, he'll be fine. But he won't carry anyone, and he'll ruin plays on the regular by just not shooting.

I thought Brodzinski has looked good recently and he has an excellent shot. Feels like we just decided to burn a second round pick for the sake of doing "something."
