The deal requires Lafreniere being at least a point/game player over the course of that contract to be worthwhile. He's a solid player, but I think that is a way overoptimistic expectation. Likely hurts Penguins short term and long term.

I am a big fan but Rakell out produced him + paid less on the cap and then we are giving up one of our top prospects who looks good in the NHL and the 1st?

As a Canadiens fan, I like a trade proposal that doesn't have Lafreniere joining the Habs. I rather doubt I'd be too thrilled with this offer if I were a fan of the Penguins.
