Somehow I am not nearly as nervous for this game.

I am. Stakes are super high! We can't keep wasting opportunities like this. I have faith in the team, but I respect the rangers. Anything can happen and I don't think either team has the edge. It's all about what happens on the ice including tips, bounces, lost coverage, not knowing the opponent (their speed is deadly), and of course...the goalies.

Gotta get the first goal. Gotta set the tone. One game at a time, but win number one - let's get it in gm1 for the 3rd straight series.

Brad Richards about playing in Montreal during the playoffs.

“I’m not going to lie, it’s the best place to play,” Richards told reporters in New York on Thursday. “I’ve been fortunate enough to see Super Bowls, I was at Yankees-Red Sox at old Yankee Stadium Game 7, World Series, I’ve played in the Stanley Cup finals.

“I can’t imagine any other sporting event that is this amazing of an atmosphere. It’s very special.”

Well last time he swept us.

Let's make it not so special for him this time.

Think we can get Ginette's Habs jersey and find a way to put it on the Statue of Liberty?

There's some some side-by-side Reds and Desjardins on the Canadiens website right now for this afternoon's game. Even got 4 White first row side-by-side by trying the "Best Tickets Available" option. Just wanted to give a head's up for anyone willing to pay :)

I'm starting to enjoy these afternoon games. You can start some serious drinking at 12h-13h without feeling any guilt whatsoever.

Habs in 6 and it starts today with a solid win. :yo:

I hate afternoon games and i'm waaaaaaay more nervous for this matchup!
NYR are a fast skating team and they can roll 4 lines unlike the bruins.
This first game will be the hardest one since it's in our own building after a emotinal filled win against our arch rival.
Hopefully the canadiens start good and Price is sharp!

It's ridiculous that this is an afternoon game.

I don't know if it helps or hurts us. We need to win this one though.

The first thing to look for is the glint in the players eyes.
If we want to compete we shouldn't have a lack of energy to do so.
If we start slow we need CP to hold us in there.
I'm worried we play like we did in game 4 which i found to be too passive.
Rangers obviously want to keep it tight.

PVR special for me today. I'll be listening on XM radio for the first part of the game and then off to a birthday party after that. Stupid afternoon game. Anyways, PVRd the first game vs Boston and we won that one so this is a good omen.

Four wins away from a cup final... let's do this. Hoping for big games from PK, Price and Max. If our best players are playing at their best we'll be hard to beat.

What a lack of respect!

Wait, how do we turn this into Richards showing us no respect?

Not really a fan of Saturday afternoon playoff hockey especially when it involves the Habs. I'd much rather spend the day outside enjoying the beautiful weather and then watch the games @ night. Hoping to catch some of the 3rd period today.

GHG!!
