Proposal: NYR-MN

I never thought that i would be feeling sorry for NYR fans just a few years after them getting the #1 and #2oa in the draft(nvm Kavtsov). At the time of their respective drafts, they took the players that were the consensus "best" ones, yet here we are 4-5 years later seeing them having to do a rebuild.

Yet another reminder that draft picks, while important, are not everything
It’s also goes to show the importance of developing properly. I’ll also always believe the draft is a crapshoot to some degree and the consensus isn’t often right as projecting 17 and 18 year olds is difficult outside of general tiers

Yuck. Rossi+ for another 30+ year old player…
LOL, a 30+ year old who in the last 5 years has more points than everyone not names McDavid, Draisaitl, and MacKinnon.
What you should focus/complain about is that he only has one year left on his contract so the argument is whether you think your team is in the window to make such a gamble. He's going to get 90-100 points next season. As a TDL rental, the price would be pretty insane for such a player.

I think the Wild have better options to make the team better than this trade. No doubt he is a great a great player but there are a couple things, age and off ice that don't make it worth it. I am curious why people get so mad with those concerns 🤷

f*** off with telling me what I should focus on. When trading a 23 year old top 6 player, it would be EXTREMELY STUPID to do so for a 33 year old player. Period. End of story.

Truth be told, I've never had one
I mean, it's not a bad burger at all. Had one about 10 years ago. Friend brought me down there after hearing I'd never been. But, the hype outshoots the product significantly. Anyone that oversells it, is likely compensating for some memory they built up in their head. It's just...a bar burger with cheese inside it.

I really prefer to go to Lion's Tap and get a bacon swiss burger and some 1919, that's what I grew up on

Never been there. South of the Twin Cities is a weird area. Anywhere South of like, 694 and I start getting weirded out. Starts getting towards civilization down there. Not a fan. I stay in the upper reaches of the North with the toothless, shoeless mole people.

Fair enough, I do enjoy my summer weekends among the toothless, shoeless mole people. Good people up there.

Oooo, i keep meaning to drop in. Drive by it when I go on hikes just a bit past that.

What else is good there?

It's only stupid when it doesn't work.

As much as I chagrin Amonte for Noonan + Matteau, Doug Weight for Tikkanen, and Marchant for MacTavish those trades led to a cup.
Conversely, we have the doomed post-cup years where Nordstrom and Ian Laperriere get sent for a too old Jari Kurri, Zubov + Nedved for Robitaille + Samuelsson
Raantanen for Necas and then for Stankoven.
Dallas traded Iginla for Nieuwendyk. Cup
Shannahan for Chris Pronger. Cups. Multiple.

It's not extremely stupid. It's extremely risky. The risk varies depending on the price you pay.
And my original point is if your team isn't even in a window, renting an all-star player is probably not a great idea.

Minnesota is not ready for a Cup run. They need much better depth, better top 4 D, and probably 2 centers that are actually difference makers (faceoffs, PK). That’s before we even think about adding a guy like Panarin.

Minnesota media would still take wild to the woodshed. if you're a Minnesotan, you should know Minnesota's media. they are the absolute. Research Gophers football sex scandal. Even players who weren't involved, or weren't in the apartment, the media was doing everything they can to paint them in Guilty light and have them thrown out of school. Players literally had to sue the school and Media for the truth to come out and be able to stay in School.

So with all these said, No thanks to Panarin and what happened.
I knew the state was woke, left but I am surprised the media leans that hard. I thought it was just a mayor and governor effect.

When did that scandal happen with the gophers? Just curious because there seems to be a fatigue around the world with media pushing a narrative and stirring up witch hunts on both sides of the aisle.

It happened during the year / summer before Coach Fleck took over. Coach Fleck had to recruit the whole team back because it was a fact only 6 players were involved, but the media specifically the white media along with females in the media tried and did everything in their power to jam up other innocent players even after the prosecutor flat out said no one else was involved and had anything to do with it. For example, Antoine Winfield jr was suspended for 1 year because it happened at his apartment, but he wasn't even there. His friend was using his apartment, like it was really bad. It was one of those incidents that even had racial connotations to it and because of the media and their involvement, the prosecutor had to dismissed case against 4 of them and 2 pled Guilty.
