To Wild:
Lindgren 3 x 3, expiring Strome ufa at half = 2.25, + expiring Georgiev rfa at half = 1,212,500
to Rangers:
Wallstedt, Greenway rfa 2.1 + 2022 3rd, 2023 3rd and 2024 3rd this last one conditional it may be upgraded to a 2024 2nd depending on either if Strome is flipped this yr, or if he is signed by MIN.

Rationale:
for MIN -- Lindgren is homeboy who plays well and allows a larger LD to be traded to LAK or elsewhere for possible pivot help/prospects; Strome is immediate playoff help and much cheaper to add than Hertl/Miller; Geo is young w/rfa and can be a starter playing well as #1 w/larger load of regular mins, Talbot in mid 30s as backup is a plan thru next yr.
Moving Wallstedt is a wince, but Wild are left w/3-4 yrs to get another stud G. Strome may/may not return as ufa, but MIN is a good option for him and is attractive if he does like 5.5 for 4 yrs, more than that, let him walk and you still had a rental. Greenway has been on the block so no whoop there, and picks are reasonable. NY retaining is friendly consideration.

for NY -- No one wants to move popular Lindgren, but truth is if Martians kidnapped, NY has ample D in pipeline to replace, long term likely one is Robertson. Greenway looks like a useful W add providing speed. The picks are nice, and fit bern mantra of adding youth not vets. Obv the prize here is Wallstedt. Rangers take acceptable risk, repudiates the stupidity of win now for a solid build move, DO play Shesty starter mins vs top competition, and go with Kinkaid/Huska vs lesser teams this season. Next year, Wall prob advances and makes his case, w/Wallstedt learning under G guru Benny Allaire. NY in near term has Shesty, then has Wall, Wallstedt and Garand as netminding group allowing NY to later deal from position of strength.

Not unimportant, NY is getting ahead of the curve for crippling $ increases to Zib + Fox by adding future cap space now.

Value - Lindy = 2oO/A value, Greenway for Geo is ballpark even. Two def 3rds for Strome is a little lite, but extra 3rd which can only upgrade if he is worth it for Wild is reasonable.

Thoughts?

Absolutely not. Why would the rangers need Wallstedt anyways?

I explained in detail. Applies value to another potential high end netminder who can be groomed while Wall + Garand compete for backup beg. next season. Very important, creates room for LaF/Kakko increases b'c Lindy likely have to be dealt for that, and here we are getting quality 1st round value.

So the 28-11-4 NYR trade their star, yes, star 2C playmaker/passer and Panarin's jock holder, along with our backup that's been solid behind Shesterkin, as well as Lindgren, a 23 year old LHD that's partners with Fox and is a throwback defender that can skate and play second fiddle to Fox for Greenway (LW), and futures that aren't even 1sts? Wallstedt? Shesterkin is 26. You don't need to worry about grooming a goalie for at least a couple more years. Ridiculous proposal.

This is not enough value to move Wallstedt. We also have no interested (presumably) in Lindgren who we can't really fit with that contract. Something around Strome for Greenway+picks is probably fine, but there's no incentive for us to include Wallstedt in a deal for a rental.

The only remotely appealing part of that Rangers package is Strome at 50% and it doesn't come close to putting Wallstedt in the deal at all, or Greenway in the deal mid-season.

"allows a larger LD to be traded" - Brodin has a full no-move and Goligoski's a UFA. So this opens up the ability trade what? Lambos? O'Rourke, Hunt, Peart? Why do we want Lindgren over those guys? Because of his birth certificate?

"Strome is immediate playoff help and much cheaper to add than Hertl/Miller" - And yet he somehow costs us Wallstedt in this deal.

"Geo is young w/ rfa and can be a starter" - DOUBT. Plus we already have Kahkonen as an RFA goalie, who's been playing well lately.

please elaborate, took pains to illustrate the opposite.
Lets look at the 2 main pieces here Wallsted and Lindgren. The rest is kinda just filler or temporary.

Rangers LD depth is already questionable and moving Lindgren while they are a competitor would decimate them. Future goaltending is the last thing Rangers need to look into

On the other hand for Minnesota Defense is arguably the last thing they need to add. Whereas Wallsted is their future in net.

Your win now rigidity needs to be avoided, it will undo this team.
Reality check: we can NOT keep Strome, every nickel of his $ must go to Zib + Fox $ adds. Therefore we either self rent, which is long term stupid, esp when using those mins to Chytil, Barron and soon, Krav, helps accelerate our future. So on subject of Strome, just let it go. His value is late 1st, a bit higher w/retention. Multiple 3rds, one of which can parlay into an 2nd is ok alternate.

Geo. THIS is REALITY. There is only 1 set of starter mins, which Geo needs to be sharp, but these have to go to Shesty. Ergo, smart move is to deal NOW to team in need of starter. Kinkaid/Huska get whooped vs highest end foes, but that is all Shesty's domain, and they get lesser competition. The thought we somehow keep geo as insurance does not override what I said in the bold. Again, give it up.

Finally, re: Wallstadt/Shesty, I am not looking to unseat Shesty. I am looking to add a Shesty calibre netminder to NY roster as Shesty turns 29. That is smart, not stupid. Whether or not Wild want instant/short term benefits or prefer to wait 2+ yrs for Wallstadt to be their own Shesty is a fair ? which answer remains to be seen.

Okay, this is what I wanted to hear from legit Wild fans. Could Lindy as a core + for Wallstedt work, or does MIN want to hold Wallstedt for later.

Presuming most of Wild agree with @AKL then fine, offer withdrawn and continue thread w/"Something around Strome for Greenway+picks".

That's probably where the disconnect is. Wallstedt's on the Do Not Touch list right below Boldy and Rossi.

Rangers don't need Wallstedt and Lindgren is too important to trade away for Greenway (who won't be playing RW1, or 2c).

Talbot is nearly 35 and Kahkonen is not the franchise goalie. Wallstedt is far too valuable for them to move and it won't be for Lindgren as the main piece. This "rationale" is poorly thought out.

The Rangers don't have anyone who is ready to replace Lindgren. Maybe Robertson can at some point in the future, but that day isn't today. We are trying to win now, not 3 years from now.

Strome is our starting 2nd line center. Who is replacing him? The picks mean nothing. We don't need a bunch of 3rd round picks spread over 3 drafts. The condition doesn't make it much better, as the pick is 3 years out. Again, we are trying to win now. Besides that, teams can no longer put a condition on a pick based on whether or not the player re-signs.

Wallstedt is a good prospect, but not one we need as long as we have Shesterkin. Wall has shown nothing to this point to suggest he can be an NHL backup. He has spent the majority of his time this year in the ECHL and his numbers are less than impressive.

You seriously need to rethink your entire approach. We aren't trading players who are key contributors this year for a prospect who might be a backup goalie for us in a couple years, before we eventually trade him for the next shiny prospect who catches your eye.

Do you actually want to see the Rangers win, or do you just want to collect prospects forever?

I was under impression, and apologies if wrong, that you were sufficiently deep at LD that were one more effective one added at reasonable #, which Lindy is at 3 x 3, then it would free up someone to LAK for help addressing pivot development. Did not want to suggest who and for what return from Kings.

Strome was not for Wallstedt. That was Lindgren, who would command that level of return if on the market, which is in line w/where Wallstedt selected.

Do not doubt we cracked the code on Geo. Howev, thought he would be part of short term depth to cover loss of Wallst. You disagree, and I acknowledge it is a legit dif way for Wild to go.

Holy shit this is a bad proposal. Why would Minn trade away their future in net for a backup goalie and D (pretty sure their D is solid) and why would the Rangers trade away their Norris D's partner for a guy who is a few years away and would play 20 or so games a season and 0 in the playoffs?
