I laughed when I saw this signing.

Enjoy the Islanders/Leafs pan drippings. He was a serviceable Islander who had ONE good year. Hasn't been the same player since his injury.

Couldn't score in a whorehouse with a fistful of cash.....

Good thing we don't need him to score.

Sorry guys, but he's garbage. Not an NHL player anymore.

He'll get a few breakaways on the PK, but he always misses. Aside from this, he's not even good on the PK. He's fast... but that's about it. He was a big part of our tank last year.

I really like the signing. I don't expect his breakout year from his NYI days, but he is good on the PK where we desperately need help and seems to get at least 1-2 quality chances per game with his speed. We've had some success the last couple years with fliers - Stempniak and Stalberg - so as long as he's healthy, it's not a big risk. Plus, expose him for expansion draft next year.

The Statue of Liberty has better hands than Grabner. He'll be decent on your PK; but expect him to suck at everything else and be an offensive anchor for whatever line he plays on.

Another NYR deal I'm fine with thanks to term and AAV. So happy with the restraint Gorton has been showing. I've been pumping his tires for a good while now, and while nothing he's done has resulted in anything spectacular yet (he's only been at the helm for half a year now), sometimes it's the moves that you don't make that help. He turned down a lot of deals to draft into the first round because they didn't make sense and didn't overpay for any of the "big" mediocre free agents.

Were you still laughing from when you heard about the Ladd signing?

That sure brightened my day.

And for Leaf fans to comment on ANY team about garbage players is pretty funny too.

Nice to see he is still getting paid. Always seemed like a good guy with NYI. Honestly, I didn't think he'd get another contract.

Don't think he was laughing from the Ladd signing, more like crying delicious NYI tears

Seriously though, this is an extremely 'meh' move from the Rangers. Grabner quite obviously sucks but if he can help the PK and get in on the forecheck then it's worth it for 1.6M

He's still fast, but he might as well not even play with a hockey stick. 0 hands/finish whatsoever.

Had hernia surgeries. Definitely took away his speed somewhat.

This is what I've always heard, and saw from watching a few Leafs games this past season. His hands have been bad for a while now, but his speed is no longer what it's been since the injuries. Definitely a shell of his former self, unfortunately.

This is a great signing by Gorton. On the surface it already looks good with it addressing our needs in the PK and team speed/depth.

The big part is that this is a contract that can be exposed at the expansion draft next year.

I never watched him much in TO, but I can say that he was never the same player for NYI after his hernia surgeries. Man, was he fun to watch when he was in his prime, though. He would be neck and neck with you at the blue line, and a stride and a half ahead by the red line. No idea how he did it. Could never finish....

Dude. If Grabner went from the top line, to the 4th line during the season on the WORST team in the NHL... What does that tell you?

Lets just wait and see how he does. All of you are just talking down on a player you didnt keep like everyone does when a player leaves.

Some Tampa fans said Stammer wasnt a top 5 or even top 7 player on their team but suddenly 8,5 is a great deal and he is very good. One Tampa fan also said Killorn was better than Stammer a couple weeks ago.... This is just how HFboards works. Everyone talks **** about the players the trade/dont resign.

Spot on, justifying a loss.
