NYR just pulled off the rope-a-dope of the century

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Lankinen isn't bad overall in my opinion but he has his days when he just can't make a save. You just have to recognize it and get him out of there early.

The Rangers have been horrible this week. It seems they've given up on trying to make the playoffs. I think their goose is cooked.

But lmao at the Canucks. They really had no business losing this game.

I seem to recall a Coyotes game where something similar happened. The score was 1-0 at one point and shots were extremely skewed in favor of the team with 0. I thought it was the Coyotes up 1-0, but I don't trust my memory, which isn't exactly very reliable.
That was probably Vejmelka against the Jets in 2021. Shots were 46-15 and Coyotes won 1-0.

@iCanada @CantHaveTkachev @Coffey Now I know how you guys feel lol

Now imagine you're Bill Murray from groundhogs day and you've seen it some 200 times in a row.

And then Lankinen goes out to the media and says he likes his game and thought he played well.

And then somehow, some way... Half of Canucks fans would still vociferously support Lankinen day after day, loss after loss, lack of accountability after lack of accountability...

😭

How's that deal working out? That contract is gonna be brutal even before it starts. Another great from Rutherfool and his mute sidekick.

Healthy Demko? WUT? Two words that just don't go together.

You can kiss Demko goodbye after next year after Rutherfool/Allvin gave you 5 years of some backup goalie at over $4.5 million per.

One more thing, how is that Dick Tanket coaching job doing? I'm here to take my victory lap after I was blasted for saying Tocchet sucked last year.

''He made the playoffs one time in a season that wasn't abruptly halted!''.
Do you hate the Canucks, dude, or is this just tough love? Because right about now it sure seems like you hate us!

I honestly don’t.

I’ve been vocal about how poorly run the team has been for quite a while now.

I’ve also been vocal about how Rutherford shouldn’t be doing this anymore and Tocchet was a stupid hire from the start.

I’ve been talking shit on Tocchet for years now and wonder why he still gets jobs.

Fair enough, can I ask you to say one nice thing about them though?

I wonder if every one of your 128,000 posts are made with the same level of eloquence and vigor.

Honestly, I don’t even hate the Canucks.

I hate that was I blasted for trashing their management and head coach and they were all of the sudden good because of one playoff berth.

I think they could have been really good, but poor decisions by management and terrible choice of head coach.

The fact the Canucks have held on to a playoff spot until now with absolutely everything possible going wrong is a testament to Tocchet as a coach, to say last year was a one hit wonder is disingenuous when even an average year health/luck wise would see the team probably above the kings for 3rd in the division.

I have some qualms with Ruthervin, but sign me up for Tocchet long term to build a winning system and environment for Vancouver.

Edit: Also I'm a huge fan of the supporting cast Alvin has put together around our "star forwards" nobody could have foreseen the implosion around Petey, Miller and Soucy. If they survived until DPetey and Willander arrived this team might have been one impact forward away from contender tier.

Definitely big thanks to the Rangers for their play this week.

Lay the biggest egg of all time against the Flames only to steal one from the Nucks
They were honestly the same game. A PP the whole game for the Flames or Nucks.

One Ranger showed up. The goalie. Kept these games close.

Difference was Vladar played well and Lankinen must’ve bet on the Rangers.
