He'll make more money back in the SHL than in the AHL. He was only making $70,000 in the AHL. He'll probably make a few times that back home, maybe more.

The reality is that there’s very little incentive for some of the older prospects who don’t necessarily carve out a clear path to the NHL.

The money and lifestyle is usually better in a European pro league, and usually more rewarding.
