Good for him. He's been fantastic for them. I've really liked Quick for a long time too so I'm glad to see him revitalize his career before he calls it quits.
I’m going to take a dissenting view and say I don’t like it.
Why are we in February giving out a raise of 450k to a 38 year old?
He’s a backup too. If he plays a game in the playoffs something has went terribly wrong.
I don’t know why we have to rush to extend him. He’s from the area and grew up a Rangers fan. Seems pretty likely he would’ve taken whatever we’d give him.
Due to his age we don’t know when the bottom is going to fall out. What if his last two months are terrible? After last year I wouldn’t expect it won’t happen to him because he’s had a great career. We know it’s in him.
And that 450k for a team up against the cap could matter a lot at some point. A team with an elite starter is stupid in a salary cap league to be paying anything more than the minimum for a backup.
great to see him get another year now he'll should be assured he will have the most wins by an american...........my season seats were his endmost of his career and had countless jump out of your seaos mpments love the guy..........not to mention we would not have 2 cups with a mere human goalie
