GDT: NYR @ EDM - Sept 24th

The question is, do you want Allen sitting as a 7th.

Frankly, I think you keep a vet 7th like Falk/Johnson for emergencies, and if someone gets legitimately injured, call up Allen to actually play.

Agreed. It's not as though Johnson looks like a traffic cone compared to McDonagh and Staal, which is expected. He looks like a traffic cone compared Allen and Hughes.

You know what I like about the preseason? That turd Michelletti prophecizing about the greatness of ECHLers and never points out any players' shortcomings. Oh wait, he does that all season long.
 
The 7th defenseman is a bit of an issue. There's no way our defenseman are staying completely healthy the entire season. We've had plenty of injuries on D the past few years.

Eminger was able to play passable defense on the bottom pairing and even in the top 4 for extended periods. Not sure if Falk, Johnson, etc. can do that. I know Bickel can't. Hopefully Allen is ready if someone goes down.
 
Man, is Staalsy's eye always going to look like that? Kind of sucks =/
 
i want a scrub vet as the 7th dman. if an injury happens most likely we will have time to get a guy in from hartford. 7th dman is only an emergency guy. but didnt vigneault say he wants to carry 8 d?
 
Well, we have a dilemma as to who to bring up but we're not in a bad spot for $7. If someone steps up and we have candidates, we'll be okay. Plus, Staal, McD, G, DZ, Stral, Moore are so solid #1 to #6, anyone missing aside from McD maybe, we'll be fine.

I was making staying consistent with last names while i was listing players I thought were doing great in the ps.

Then I went the friendlier first name route.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say we have the best D-men in the league. The starting 6 at least, when everyone's healthy.
 
I don't really understand where people get the whole "Homer Joe" thing from. I notice him subtly ******** on players from both teams all the time :laugh:

nah Allen has to start and get minutes in CT but its nice to see him impressing.

Falk is 7 and honestly I don't think they should keep an 8th but if they do its a vet like Johnson or sadly Bickel.

Allen, McIlrath should push for a spot next yr. I think Stralman is a cap causualty next yr while the other 5 are staying for the long haul.
