How many times have we heard this, only to see the player move with zero retention?Mika has 5 more years at 8.5. He's not going anywhere without retention or significant draft capital.

I’m afraid JT carried nobody at all.I'd be curious to see his numbers before and after being carried by JT Miller
I'm sure there is another steaming pile of crap player with a similar contract they might deal him for.How many times have we heard this, only to see the player move with zero retention?
By watching him decline. He put up 62 points last year, how do you come to that conclusion?
Take your digs, but he would have been 4th on your team in scoring last year and outscored Timo Meier in what was his worst season in years. What's that say about Meier?I'm sure there is another steaming pile of crap player with a similar contract they might deal him for.
Since you feel this way. Maybe the leafs should offer a 1st and one of their top spects for him then.He put up 62 points last year, how do you come to that conclusion?
You should probably stop thinking. It seems difficult for you.Could there be a deal between Rangers and Blackhawks with Mika Zibanejad headed to Chicago and Tyler Bertuzzi headed to New York with fillers added.
Both play the PP, both kill penalties.
Was thinking:
Mika Zibanejad and the rights to Zac Jones
For
Tyler Bertuzzi, Oliver Moore and either the Leafs 1st this year, OR Panthers 1st next year
Thoughts?

stop, his D is atrocious if last season is an indicatorAmazing the pile on Zibanejad is getting even after still putting up 60+ points this season when the entire of the NYR were awful.
He is not a cap dump and still will be a massive contributor next season. He is very strong in defence and an excellent PK'r.
He is a top 6 Center that has consistently produced at an average of nearly a PPG and is the 11 highest point producer amongst Centers over the last 5 years.
60+ point center with a very strong defensive game is worth $8.5m easy. That is less than $6.3m in a flat cap.
STOP, STOP STOPNot for the next 5 years it isn’t. Much like Kreider he goes radio silent for long stretches. And much like Kreider he seems to have an excuse for everything.
I think a majority of Ranger fans would like you to part ways with him. But realistically he doesn’t have much value, the contract is going to be a very ugly one soon.
Your first and prospects are coming from the wrong team here my guyCould there be a deal between Rangers and Blackhawks with Mika Zibanejad headed to Chicago and Tyler Bertuzzi headed to New York with fillers added.

addition by subtractionAs a guy who really wants to get rid of Mika, no thanks. It's pretty much a pile of nothing coming back for Mika.
Because he’s contract is for the next 5 years and typically players after 30 experience significant drop offs. His numbers have decreased across the board over the last few years. He put up 62 points last year, how do you come to that conclusion?
What do you think he’d bring back? You can make an argument he has negative value. Down year and 5 years left. He also holds the power with his trade protection. It’s very possible that in order to move him he’d have to have a big bounce back year and/or take back a similar big contract. As a guy who really wants to get rid of Mika, no thanks. That “pile of nothing” is worth a lot more than Zib is worth even more so when she and contracts are consideredAs a guy who really wants to get rid of Mika, no thanks. It's pretty much a pile of nothing coming back for Mika.
The problem with the "if" scenario is that we all just saw his production nose dive 2 seasons in a row. The expectation of 60+ points for the next few years is a high expectation and very risky for other General Managers after what they've seen.Disagree, with the cap going to be around $105/$110m in 2026/27, the cap is not going to be as much of an anchor.
If he continues to play at 60+ points with his strong 2 way game for the next few years, which I think is extremely achievable, then he will be earning every penny of the salary.
By watching him decline.
I just told you.You said he was a negative value asset, how do you come to the conclusion that a 62 point player is a negative value asset?
His value probably isn't high because of the cap hit but It's not negative value
