Yes, he obv does not have size/strength shutdown/clear the crease by brute power abilities, but he is elite IQ and while not super fast, very good skater and as a result can minimize offense vs in Rangers zone.
Also, he is paired w/effective Lindgren, and if he goes, it will be another larger sized guy, so he doesn't really need to have the direct matchups you insinuate are required.
