You definitely haven't watched Kevin Hayes anytime recently or have him confused for Jimmy. Kevin lost about 25 pounds and is a key cog on one of the best lines in the NHL right now.

Skjei is also playing worlds better than Hamilton right now.

The Rangers lose HARD in this deal.

huh? am i watching the correct Calgary Flames this season? Hayes would be a downgrade? I guess the hottest forward on the highest scoring team is a downgrade on a team that is struggling mightily?

Value aside - I don't see the Rangers trading this many roster pieces when the team is going so well.

I don't know why there so many NYR trade proposals on the main board when they are playing very well . No since in making a trade at this time

Hayes career average points per 60 - 2.17

Backlund career high points per 60 - 1.71

It's not about 12 games, Hayes is just on a different tier offensively.

You could argue certainly that Backlund is that much better defensively but it's difficult to argue that Hayes is a downgrade.
