I mean it’s lots of value but am I the only one who thinks “hmmm…Zadorov has been pretty damn good in Boston and is just such a unique beast, not sure I’d actually pull the trigger if I’m the B’s…” Or am I simply letting my eternal Z man-crush get in the way of clearly thinking?

Lots of folks like Z a lot but have always caveated “but he’s only really effective in third pairing minutes”. Well - he’s playing the heaviest usage of his career - 20:30 per night which is absolutely top four usage and many nights he’s getting 23, 24+ minutes and is only behind McAvoy in ES usage…and he remains a 6-6, 250 pound heavyweight cruising towards a new +/- high on a team that hasn’t been a juggernaut this year.

K’Andre is younger and a true athlete who probably has a higher gear left to hit - but I’m not totally convinced he will ever be a bigger impact player (literally and figuratively) and he may very well not even be a better value by the time his extension kicks in. The rest of the pieces are an absurd steal for Boston, not trying to ignore that….but simply pose the question….do I want to deal Zadorov?

Zadorov til 35 at $5aav >>>>>> kandre at $6-6.5aav X 6. And I’d do this with the idea of extending frederic.

You also told me to stop when I said re-sign mikkola and get rid of lindgren
What, like 3 years ago? lol. You saving those posts?

But yeah, let's keep trading younger players for older ones. Maybe we can be the Islanders.

You listing those stats made me reflect on my anti-Zadorov bias a little bit funny enough.

I think some of his baffling decisions with the puck piss me off enough where I let those define him.

It's not like K'Andre Miller is flawless, but in a lot of important ways, he's a rich man's Zadorov. Is the downgrade there worth the rest of that deal? I don't see those scales tipping right.

WTF is this....😂

An very average bottom 4 dman who can't defend and bottom 6 rental for K'Andre Miller alone is awful for NYR but then you add Othmann and Sykora on top of that 😂😂

Come on bruh!
Gotta give to get. I personally have zero interest in locking up kandre long term. I dont see where sykora ever fits in an NYR lineup. And if it took othmann to get it done id do it. This would be contingent on frederic agreeing to an extension.

I want a heavier tougher team. Thats what wins come playoff time

TOI very similar, within a minute.

When comparing against their own teammates

Boston has -28 goal differential, and Zadorov is a plus 14, best for their defenseman. Which is real good for that goal differential.

On the Rangers which are a -3 goal differential, Miller is a -6, worst on that team for defenseman.

Although it does seem like both teams want to dump those D.

To NYR:
Frederic
Zadorov

To BOS:
Kandre Miller
Brennan Othmann
Adam Sykora
NYR need some youth back as well, if they send away top\first round picks from '18, '21 and '22
add Beecher, Edward, and Pelosi
and its more palatable,
[altho I expect Othmann to throw up a few 30 goal seasons

I would hope Drury's not this bad of a GM.

Where's the upgrade or benefit for the Rangers?

If you're pissed at KAM's decision-making, you're not going to feel better about Zadorov's.

Can't defend? You obviously don't watch him play. Miller might be younger and have more offense(declining each year tho) but otherwise Zadorov is better. Othmann will be lucky to become a solid 3rd liner and Sykora will be lucky to become a 4th liner. As a Bruins fan, I wouldn't make this trade.

Miller's numbers are thrown off by his time with Trouba, where in 99 5v5 mins, they had 0 GF and 10 GA. With Fox and Borgen, his 2 most common pairings this season, he's at 31 GF and 27 GA at 5v5. The pairing with Fox in particular was pretty dominant, 17 GF 9 GA, and a 65.75% xGF%.
