but your not just getting Miller, a 23 year old top 6 player. who players a great 2-way physical game and can play all 3 forward positions. your getting the extra cap space needed to resign lindholm as well. not only that, miller could get a lot better and really screw the rangers on the deal, but that is a chance many fans would take.. Good on gorts too, where is else is murray going to find a guys who can give you 20-25 goals on first line for under 3 million for the next 2 years.. No vats for miller no deal let lindholm sit and rot. especially after that whole hagelin fiasco.. Ducks trade him to pens and he eats our lunch in the playoffs and goes on to win a cup... gimmie a break. vats certainly has more value then miller right now. Not by a ton but he does. But does he have more value then adding miller to your first line, getting lindholm signed, and having montour replace vats??? i'm not so sure

Miller doesn't get a signed Vatanen regardless.

Vats as a defenseman has put up similar points as Miller the past few seasons, but Vats has actually put up more points overall in his career than Miller has and in fewer games. Vats plays a more coveted and more valuable position than Miller as well. Miller is 2 years younger which helps his value.

I'm not seeing how Miller is anywhere close to Vats in terms of value. Vats has much more value than Miller, so if you wanted Vats, there would have to be a pretty good plus coming our way. The plus is not cap space, since Vats isn't going to be treated as a cap dump to re-sign Lindholm.

Thanks, I think we are at an impasse
Miller will not go unless maybe in a package for Hanifin, who is ELC and expansion exempt

this thread should grow cold unless/until there are new developments

we have a better chance of Winnipeg adding significantly and doing McDonagh + for Trouba ++, than we do of finding common ground here

plz stop. Mcdonagh isnt going anywhere and Miller isnt close to enough for Hanifin. Hanifin is a future top pairing defensemen with #1 potential.
