Not interested in any deal revolving around Nyquist for Johnson. Johnson is a shell of his former self and serves no purpose for Detroit. Obviously Werenski and Savard are unavailable so i doubt Columbus would have what we would want for Nyquist.

he had some personal stuff last year (i'm sure everyone's read about it, no reason to rehash it) and I'm sure that affected his play somewhat. Will be interesting now that he's stapled to the 2nd pairing if he plays better with lesser minutes...

Yeah i think at the TDL there was talk that Detroit had interest in Jack Johnson before his season ending injury and that one of Tatar/Nyquist was trade bait. He does have local ties to the Detroit area. And i know Holland had strong interest in him going back to his King days. And yes his personal problems were well documented so we wont go there. Actually i'm a big Jack Johnson fan but at this point in his career i feel we need to look elsewhere like Fowler or Shattenkirk younger D-men.

We sure don't. That Larkin guy is quite a few levels higher I agree.

Larkin only has one advantage right now, but it's a decisive one - productive NHL experience. I wasn't going to mention him, but if you want to insist he's still a prospect and thus comparable...

I'd add something to get Savard but that's the only realistic player from Columbus that I'd be interested in. Johnson isn't a bad player, just not what we need at all.

Totally agree, At this stage no need for Johnson. And obviously Werenski isn't going any where Savard is the only one that makes sense here for us. Doubt that Columbus has any interest in moving Savard though.

Correct - we'd be in trouble at RHD if we moved Savard, because neither Goloubef nor Prout are looking all that ready for regular bottom pairing minutes, let alone second.
