I don't see William Nylander as the kind of player who will ever excel in the playoffs. He's the definition of soft skill.

Why would Horvat want Nylander? A perfect fit for Horvat would be a winger who can not only score, but also free up some pucks along the boards, maybe watch his back once in a while, and backcheck. That ain't Nylander. Tkachuk , for sure. Fiala, ok. Killorn, Meier?
Podkolzin will likely be that player. He's exactly the kind of rugged, all-situations player the Canucks need.

Horvat would have much better stats if he didn't have to play with awful wingers around him. The best winger he's had is tanner Pearson. Been saddled his whole career with Loui's, Jakes and Roussels of the world. He also takes on the toughest minutes in the entire NHL.
