Haha. I'm a goalie so pretty accurate levels of defensive coverage I see.

That's what I kept telling their fans. It's really rare to jump from 72 to 96 points. Laine might have ended up being a whipping boy for fans, as opposed to his "triumphant return to 40 goals."There's no way Latrick Paine is the difference between this joke being respectable or not.

If it was the Oilers D he would have walked around them even easier. That defensive effort was atrocious- good on slick Willy for capitalizing, but that forward/defense combo decision to let him just walk into the slot was.. oof.
Haven’t you heard ? Savard is worth a 1 st come the deadline lol . Been cooked for years ; finally people seem to be realizing this ..It really is amazing how dogshit these Montreal Canadiens' are @ team defense.
David Savard vacating the middle of the ice to take away the pass to a guy on the boards, was certainly a choice.
Just a tire fire of a team.
Yeah but it's against Montreal. Nothing impressive about that.
nylander better at hockey than austin matthews.
They were on the PK....so that's basically the set up....there is normally 3 options: 1) puck carrier brings it over the line and immediately tries to make space (i.e. doesn't carry it over and try to drive the net), 2) dump in and someone chases or 3) pass over to guy standing at the blue line by the boards with stick in the zone so the other players rush up and the D back off and white ice created and now you have zone possession. It really is amazing how dogshit these Montreal Canadiens' are @ team defense.

I think he fully was preparing for the typical drop pass entry....and then realized he could just kind of keep going lolThat was the slowest "coast to coast" goal I think I've ever seen. Everyone including Nylander looked like they were in slow motion.

So the D was a letdown for sure, but you can understand the thought process.
Toronto's PP the past five years has been about gaining the zone the dumping off to the half wall. Savard was just doing what the Habs scouting reports told him to do.It really is amazing how dogshit these Montreal Canadiens' are @ team defense.
