Seems to me Nylander's camp would be much more concerned about a future lockout. If he signs a bridge he could be sitting for the year without NHL pay. No matter how this plays out if there is a lock out the Leafs could lose time with Nylander.

It seems that it would benefit the Leafs more. At most the Leafs lose a year of Nylander's service and this happens pretty much either way if there is a lock out. For Nylander he risks not being paid at all for the time the lock out is in place.

His agent is an idiot. Toronto obviously has no problem lockout-proofing contracts with huge signing bonuses. He's just costing himself and his player $ at this point.

Yeah. I'm sure any contract he signs that is long-term will ensure he still gets paid. Seems to me anyway the longer this goes the more it will benefit Toronto.
