Whether it's worth it for X team isn't something I thought about, just going off what I've watched this year from him. Yeah, he can't move like he used to but he can still really zip it and he still sees the field and what's in front of him well IMO. I don't know, I guess he can get you to the playoffs and there's a bunch of worst QBs who won the SB with a good supporting cast.

I just don’t think he can, unless the team is elite around him, he’s way too slow and plays afraid

And in reality we’ll never know this because no legit playoff caliber team will be looking at him. Maybe 1 or 2 teams in the worst place in the NFL could look at him

AR just wanted to play with guys he knew, but like you said, those guys were not as good and he wasn't willing to put in the time needed to develop new chemistry with younger players.

Plenty of time in the off-season to do your own thing, but there are times when you need to focus on football. He wasn't willing to do that, thus here we are.

I get why the Jets went and got him. Coming off Darnold and Wilson at QB. Now, they are right back where they started, just with way more dead salary cap for next season.

At least new GM should have some runway to clean up the cap first, then figure it out. Not getting a QB in 2025 draft in round 1. Not sure I heard great things about 2026 draft. I don't foresee Arch Manning coming out for it as a 1 year starter. He'd likely return for a SR year to get close to 30 total career college starts before going pro. Has the luxury to play the long game vs other kids who didn't come from money, where getting $30 mill guaranteed as a top 5 pick makes more sense, than take the risk of either dropping in the draft or getting hurt in college.

Aaron Rodgers was hell bent on bringing back Randall Cobb for his last few years in Green Bay. Then Rodgers complained the lack of weapons he had with the Packers, then complained about the defense.

Packers raised the red flag and quickly shipped him after his final year.

He’s done but it was still a shot worth taking for the Jets. If you don’t have a QB making the playoffs is very hard. Unless you’re Pittsburgh where every QB is good enough.

The Jets had good reason to believe in their defense, running back and #1 WR when they made the move. And he was a year removed from an MVP.

But it didn’t work and it’s over and the quicker they remove him from the field the better. Need a full organizational leadership reset. And no one is a worse leader…no one brings worse vibes…than him.

I saw videos this week of Tomlin jumping into players social media posts to celebrate and McDermott doing snow angels with Josh Allen after they won the division. Now…I think both of these coaches have some deep fundamental flaws when it comes to in game decisions…but it is inarguable that they are two of the best culture setters in the league. And they’ve evolved into having fun with the players as they succeed and continue to get younger around them. And that shit wins a LOT of games and keeps giving you chances to get it right in the playoffs. People mocked the Dan Campbell hire when it happened and…boy…does it look like he’s the next set the culture and win a lot guy or what? Jets need to find the next one of these guys and clean up the entire thing.

Tomlin, turned things around with Smith as OC. Last couple not good. Dermott, had Dabboll and went through Dorsey before current one, plus moved out Diggs to change things up. Campbell, has Johnson as OC, so next season will be interesting to see him without him.

Jets, without a QB won't land a prominent OC or an up and comer with options.

On the bright side, no matter what they do with Rodgers, it will cost the Jets a pretty large sum of money, either actual money or dead cap hits, so he is the gift that keeps on giving

For Jets' new regime, keeping or releasing Aaron Rodgers will be expensive

New York is faced with a huge dead-money charge if they release Rodgers or huge option bonus if they keep him.

I don't like him but nah, he's not that far gone.

Marino had probably the ugliest decline of any big name QB in league history. By 1999 he couldn't even put anything on his short yardage throws let alone the laser accurate fastballs he was known far.

While this version of Rodgers is obviously past his prime, he'll still make the odd throw that makes you go "oh hey there's the old Aaron." Not the case with Marino.
